Re: How frightening is this.

From what I can gather it will track where you are and where you have been. I may be getting over excited here but why on would you want the world to know where you are etc. Can you imagine the privacy issues

Why would anyone want this? If I want to meet up with one of my mates I'll give them a bell (or usually just a txt with one word ... "beer?") ... is this big brother ... but in a little brother type way???

Re: How frightening is this.

Mike, I wouldn't worry too much, if the missus wanted to track you she probably already is. There are more secretive ways of tracking people. You can sign up to a service which allows you to 'ping' someone else's phone and, based on cell-tower information, it tells you where they are to within 20ft and sends you a map via SMS. You need to sign up the phone you want to ping, but it simply sends a confirmation text message so you just need to get hold of the phone for a few minutes to set it up

Scary stuff eh?

Re: How frightening is this.

Mike sounds like you want to get a secret mobile for your dodgy dealings ...

Re: How frightening is this.

That's the way forward. If you want to trick the system, get a secret mobile then divert your regular mobile to it before turning it off. That way you'll still get the calls, but not trackable on your regular number via cell-tower info. Untraceable. Well, unless your other half works for GCHQ.
