Help Jersey - Alternative Things To Do/See??

Am combining some clients meetings with a long weekend in Jersey with the better half. We leave this Friday and don't come back until Tuesday.

Been there quite a few times over the past 10 years and done things like the underground military base, the old forts etc and spent many hours walking around the place.

It really is a lovely island, but this trip we fancy something a little different. Anyone got any ideas? We're pretty fit, active and 'do' sports etc.

For example last weekend was on the Isle of Man to see mates and wanted to go sea kayaking to look for basking sharks but weather ruined it. At least we got to race the TT route again (and got pickled in Doolish! )

Jersey tips appreciated

(we got any AOers in Jersey??)

I'm experiencing deja vu and amnesia at the same time.. I think I've forgotten this before.

All the WWII occupation stuff. I was 7 when I went to the underground hospital and can still remember it vividly! I also recall St Helier & Fort Regent

I got ripped off on ebay by a company based on Jersey, you could do me a favour while you're there!

The b4stards think they're safe because they're in Jersey and I'm on the mainland!

Luckily it was only £16 or I'd book myself a trip there.

BTW, have a nice time there

How much per broken kneecap?

BTW, they have a French surname IIRC, can I have a discount, or maybe you could throw in a couple of extra 'caps for free?

Ah ha! In that case I would be pleased to offer my FFOC (French Free Of Charge) Service.

Gory Castle, Mont Orgueil, medieval tournemants of a spectacular sort. Jersey Goldsmiths, for a few trinkets for the wife. Go there occasionally to see the value of previous purchases.: Winners all, some fifteen years up. Then just eat and drink, eat and drink. Banks, now under a new name? Or the 100's of others, then work it of at the Liquid nightclub.:

Re: Jersey - Alternative Things To Do/See??

Depends when you are going of course, but when I was there a couple of years ago I went to a sprint meeting at St Oeuns (?) Bay. Closed roads, rorty machinery and a free to roam paddock to see all the bikes and cars.
The following day they had a hill climb again on closed roads.
One of the bikes was Barry Sheene's Manx Norton still carrying No 7.

Pity the mainland doesn't have such an enlightened attitude to motorsport.
Someone else mentioned the Military Hospital and the fortifications being worth a look.

Other than that there is always the VAT free shopping.
