Re: A petition to sign from Alfaracer.com

makes sense, if you don't like noise either don't move to a known noisy place or if you absolutely insist on living there then don't bloody moan!!

Re: A petition to sign from Alfaracer.com

I agree with the sentiment but I think the petition is too loose. Like anything in law it can be abused. I guess the church bells reference stems from the latest complaint, widely publicised in Aldburgh, Suffolk. They were, in fact, being quite reasonable.

My fear is that, being unreasonable, people will come up with-

"Well I have been playing music at full volume for years- these newcomers are infringing my human rights and I now have a right to carry on."

Oh - sod it - I'll go with sentiment for once - there I'll sign it.

Paul (the pompous git).

i signed a petition requesting that gordon brown be incinerated in public and his sizzling, fatty remains packed into a space rocket aimed at a distant galaxy.

i'm still waiting...

Well there may be some outcome from it, there may not be. In my eyes anything is worth a try.

If nothing happens then nothing happens but if it does count for something then you can say you played your part. Its only signing your email address and home address. Its not too much to ask and it doesnt really take too much of your time.

Re: A petition to sign from Alfaracer.com

Signed. Brands Hatch gets complaints from West Kingsdown residents, despite the fact that the circuit has been there since 1926. Like people moving near to Heathrow and then moaning, why do you think your house was so bloody cheap you moron

Re: A petition to sign from Alfaracer.com

Its all dependant on knowing the area you have moved to better than a normal new comer would, surely. I cant sign that. I moved just over a year ago and have to put up with people in the streets on summer nights blasting **** music out through car stereos and throwing beer and vodka all over the place. I didnt know that happened when i moved, and i certainly wont petition for it to continue.

That's bad news yes, but although vague this petition doesn't cover that. I thank maybe it should say 'organised activity'.

Basically you're suffering from inconsiderate drunken louts, and theoretically you could complain to your local council to get it sorted out.

However, this petition is because people are complaining about the noise of Brands Hatch, when the circuit has been there since 1926 and the home owners have been there only a few years. They moved to the area knowing full well that Brands is there (you can't miss it) and now they're complaining about the noise on race days. That's not on.

I don't suppose your louts have been there since 1926

Re: A petition to sign from Alfaracer.com

Not at all, i'm not talking about a couple of youths in their cars causing a disturbance, i'm talking about a summer activity that half our road enters into most evenings in the summer. Its got the local councils backing and aint likely to stop. Thing is, these get togethers are unmanaged and go on till the early morning. They are not supposed to but they do. Several other residence have complained and we all got a letter back saying that they had permission.
