Kids' car crashes, wiping out occupants.
And, in 21st century UK, who do we blame? that's right; we bleet on about the loss of the kids who STOLE, and sentence the hardworking bloke they stole from.
BBC NEWS | England | Pizza thieves death crash
of course i'm not saying those kids should have been killed. but - with respect to them - it is laughable, that they did bad, yet the bloke trying to earn a crust should be sentenced for his efforts to reclaim what they stole.
this is precisely why the uk is so rubbish and pathetic. this is why law abiding citizens like me laugh at the banality that is the UK today...and this is why so many people take advantage...because they know they can get away with it, to the expense of people like you and me.
Earn a decent wage? get kicked in the teeth for it.
pikey-scum low life taker? get a pat on the back.
on a scale of one to ten, just how rubbish is the uk?

Pretty rubbish at the moment
But I tell you, most of the large European countries are just as bad (though with generally better weather ).
Political correctness or some devious monster sprung out from it, is killing Western societies.

Not exactly sure what these people did and what crime they were charged......cannot view the Video....I suspect that the behaviour of the people charged was deemed 'irresponsible' under the circumstances. i.e the lengths they went too for 14 quid was not reasonable......

Sorry but if you steal, and die or get injured in the process so be it. If he had paid £14 for it and then left it wouldn't have happened.
There really is something wrong with society these days, not helped by the PC brigade standing up for the rights of complete wastes of space.

Why do I get the feeling that the chaser caused them to crash through dangerous driving of his own, or am I reading/hearing this wrong?

Listening to that report, that is how it is coming across. The cars collided whilst one was overtaking the other... presumably at speed due to the term 'car chase' being used.

Britain needs to re-write the rule book and PC book from a clean slate, it would take a brave man to do so!

Re: if you nick food and die while running, it's ok; the UK will blame who you stole
Sorry, but I am getting more radical and grumpy as I get older, so here are my thoughts:
If you commit a crime, and die as a direct result of that crime (breaking the law, as if I have to spell it out), then that is death by misadventure. Some time ago, a couple of girls (supposedly intelligent students), decided to walk down the railway line because they had missed the last train. One of them got electrocuted and fried (sorry, died). On the news, we saw the parents, trying to say that Network Rail should be prosecuted for not putting up warning signs - well Duhhh!!! The parents could probably added that the pub, where the girls got drunk were responsible for the death. About ten years ago, we had another "accident", where a youth was playing chicken in a railway station, running across the track, unfortunately he got his timing wrong. In the immediate aftermath, a very traumatised train driver was nearly assaulted by the lad's friends, who thought that the train driver was responsible for the tragedy!!???
What is the World coming to, when people cannot take responsibility for their actions, and try to blame others for the predicament which they themselves have caused?

Re: if you nick food and die while running, it's ok; the UK will blame who you stole
I do feel your frustration Gino, but after listening to the report, it does seem like the delivery guy, who gave chase, acted rashly/irresponsibly and (probably) caused the deaths of the lads in the car. It's certainly a fine line whether or not people decide to take affirmative action in getting back what has been taken from them. However, I'd say taking chase (at speed) on the public roads was completely wrong and, whether he was hardworking or not, taking the law into his own hands has sadly had tragic consequences for 3 families.
Not sure where p!key-scum came from
Youth do crazy, irresponsible things sometimes. I played knock-and-run as a nipper, even nicked the odd apple or two (ahhh, such sweet innocence )
But three deaths - all for £14....??
'Tis a sad story

Re: if you nick food and die while running, it's ok; the UK will blame who you stole
I read about this in this morning Metro paper. Apparently the kebab worker did ram their car and overtook on the inside.
I do feel sorry for him though - as you can see how all this happens in the heat of the moment, especially if people had stolen in this manner previously.
Although I think it was ultimately reckless I hope the kebab worker doesn't get to harsh a sentence - but my initial re-action on reading the storey was that I was just pleased an innocent bystander was not killed

Very tragic events. Remember these were all youngsters who did something a bit dodgy and paid with their lives. I know I've done one or two things I'd rather wish I hadn't when I was a lad. The guys chasing them could have taken their reg no and phoned the cops and let them sort it out.

On the plus ride, they won't evolve into more serious crime or steal again. On the downside, pity the bloke who chased them. Regardless of what they did, he'll be feeling gutted now.
