You raise a valid point. Say for example miniature black holes were suddenly produced all over the world, they only lasted for a few seconds tops, but caused a fair old whack of damage.

If a black hole did pop up outside my house and suck half of my Alfa 156 through it leaving the other half spliced open, where would I stand with my insurers?

i had never heard of this until i come across this thread and now ive been reading about it for the last few hours it all sounds a bit disturbing to me they have done with out it for thousands of years so why take the risks lol i like how they cant tell you enough times in the articles how safe it is hmm lol only time will tell be an interesting bit of kit if it works without killing us all ha ha

It's no different to when they set off the 1st Atom bomb, it was a nuclear chain reaction and no-one really knew if it would stop at just a big explosion or whether it would consume the earth.
