You raise a valid point. Say for example miniature black holes were suddenly produced all over the world, they only lasted for a few seconds tops, but caused a fair old whack of damage.
If a black hole did pop up outside my house and suck half of my Alfa 156 through it leaving the other half spliced open, where would I stand with my insurers?
