Continental Car Shows.

I try to go to as many of the better car shows that I can, and I have found that the foreign events are far better for "freebies" than those held in Britain ever are. Especially good are those held in Germany where the stuff that they give away is quite valuable. For instance, earlier this year I was given a beautiful poster of a 1920's Blower Bentley powering around the Le Mans 24 Hour Circuit. I asked for a second one for a pal of mine and was invited to take as many as I wanted, each of which sold for well over £50.00 when I later auctioned them. An event I went to in Holland saw most people being given a really nice coffee mug with a 1930's Castrol ad. on the side etc.etc.
In Britain, though, the best thing that you'll be given is a bunch of scuzzy flyers stuck under your windscreen wiper. Even the tickets, which used to be quite collectable at British events, are now horrible little bits of vile coloured paper, as per those of this past weekend's
"Silverstone Classic" meeting and where the entrance price was £35.00.
Come on Britain, how about giving better value for money like they do on the Continent !

Re: Continental Car Shows.

I go to the main Geneva Motorshow & Techno Classica in Essen Germany. Thinking of the Geneva Classic Show in December too
