Online Sim Racing!

I've gathered that there are other sim racers here on AO. So I'm thinking, how cool woud it be if we could have some online Alfa races!?

Race 07 would be a good candidate for sim - it's possible to set up custom Alfa-only championships with Alfa 75 and/or 156 GTA.

Any takers?

I've not got Race 07, but I do like a game of GTR

I'd be interested although it has been some time since I played any racing games. I probably stopped around the time Sony grabbed the rights for F1 so we couldn't have F1 games on PC anymore prats. No one does it like Geoff Crammond !

I've got GTR-2 installed as well. I'll happily race you guys there too.

BTW, I think you can find Race 07 in the bargain bin for a tenner or so...

Well, things have moved on a bit since then... You should really try something like GTR-2 or Race 07 - simming is mindboggling these days!

The problem with the Microprose Grand Prix games was that there was little or no sensation of speed.

Visually stunning (for the time), more variables and setup options than you could shake a stick at, but not particularly exciting.

The GTR series knocks it into a cocked hat IMO.

Sure but you have to remember I'm talking about an Amiga 500 here with 512k RAM.

Stunt car racer had a good sense of speed though

Anyway, I'll see if I can find those games in the bargain bin and dig out my old steering wheel.

Agreed, Stunt Car Racer was an awesome game. Odd to think it's nearly 20 years old. If it was a car it'd be a 'G-plate'!!!

GCs Grand Prix was good too, you could race on the original Imola track, and the autopilot for multiplayer (where you had to take turns driving) was novel.
