I reckon that would take about 4 - 5 years.

And then I'd have a think about where was worth going back to.

Thats it continue the pretense that this town isn't made up of 50% students under 21! With all the language schools and university, Bournemouth has the highest percentage of students in the country!

Walking through town during the summer is fun

Canada. specifically north of Vancouver.

I went skiing to Whistler (north of Vancouver) in February.
The scenery is stunning, interesting people and what seems like a more chilled out way of life!

I think this is near to the ideal solution, retain your home here and have another one wherever else you fancy. I almost made this, was within months and then divorce got in the way and ruined the master plan.

I have a friend who has a nice big house here and a big place in Cyprus and they tend to spend Apr - Nov there and the rest here. The house here has a small garden with little maintenance required and he has a load of land out in Cyprus to indulge in his mini tractors and other toys ! For myself I'd probably do it the other way around, summer here and winter in Cyprus, depends how well you react to constant sunshine !

I think that you must retain your house here though, for me a UK based bolthole would be an absolute must.
