Re: Whats your most loved possesion?
I am also with Scudetto and scsc.
27 years ago I was sleeping in my car (It was a SAAB turbo so not all bad) having separated from wife no.1. I had my clothes and my car.
When I finally got a rented flat I bought two plates for 40p, a knife and fork, a cup and a bowl - they were MINE - not shared, not valuable but a sign that I was OK.
Yes - material things are lovely - I enjoy them utterly - but, when you lose them you really do realise that they are ultimately worthless.
Paul.

At the end of every working day ask yourself what difference you've made.
If your impact is negative - you should take a very hard look at your life
If you've made a positive impact - well done you.
If it's a so-so sort of day, run over a chav on the way home to improve your score.

Re: Whats your most loved possesion?
Not sure what my favorite possession is at the moment, but in the (hopefully near) future it will become my permanent slot car track, such are the hours and finance that I'm putting into it.
The only items bought off the shelf are the cars and track pieces, all the scenery is being scratch built by myself.
When I finish it I'll post some pics, hopefully it will be worth it

Re: Whats your most loved possesion?
If it can`t be my wife - it must be my girlfriend then
Possesion is a tricky thing - its difficult to say I have enough, it`s so easy to justify to buy another thing. And then when you ask yourself a question what is really that you can`t live without - there is nothing like that.
So I would say - it`s my apartment - I don`t own a house, but bought a two bedroom flat and managed to pay it off. It`s not the material value of it - it goes up and down (and rapidly down recently ) - it`s the feeling that me and my family have a shelter that is ours and safe, no one can kick us out if I had no money (ok. they would cut off water and electicity ).

Re: Whats your most loved possesion?
Anything that I possess, material things, can be replaced.
I would have to say (aside from my family) that my Freedom is the most valuable possession I have.
I would like to thank all the men and women in the Military for this.

Re: Whats your most loved possesion?
My most loved possession (other than husband and Alfa) is my watch.
It was a gift for my 17th birthday from my grandfather, who died a few years ago. Its so loved because i had to leave nearly everything behind 5 years ago, i packed my car with what would fit in it and left. i had no contact with anyone from before that day and only saw him a couple of times later. Its a reminder of him i can keep close.
It could be replaced but it would not mean the same.

Re: Whats your most loved possesion?
Most treasured possession (if property is allowed) is my 15th century house in the centre of one of Europe's most beautiful cities (and UNESCO World Heritage Site), Torun in Poland.

If I had to limit myself to more portable things, I'd probably say my Leica IIIc, or (and this is actually still on order so not currently in my possession at all) my Stowa Marine Original wristwatch.

Re: Whats your most loved possesion?
It's all so true.
As far as material stuff is concerned (the stuff you can loose) it would have to be the pocket knife I bought in Chamonix with the little bit of money my mum left me when she died.
 thread Vinnie!

Re: Whats your most loved possesion?
my Kawasaki GPz550
origionaly my Fathers, when he retired he bought a new suzuki bandit 600, and handed the GPz 550 to me, knowing how much i loved that shape of GPz.
to do this gesture proud, i stripped and rebuilt her, she now looks like new.
to me this bike is irreplaceable, a symbol of the unbreakable bond between father and son. if the day ever comes when its no longer practical to keep her on the road, she is being donated to a motor museum, likely the stondon museum in bedfordshire, as my father is a life long bedfordian.
it will always be dads GPz, i found it for him in a local dealer, and i may be its custodian now, but it bought him a decade of joy.
