Held hostage by kitty

A little tabby cat has appeared in our back garden. This happens on the odd occasion with cats, they're usually pretty timid and when they see you stand up inside, they're off.
This one is different. He's determined to get in the house! He keeps doing that pathetic standing up pawing at the door glass thing.
This may be because I made the mistake of going out and giving him a stroke.

Feel very guilty about leaving him out there, but it's someone elses cat, has a collar on in good nick. Don't want to let him in and make him think this is a home from home. But he has such a plaintive look on his face wanting to come in.

Go upstairs and pour water on it out of the window. It'll go home. Problem solved.

Grrrr! Cats!

Rummage in the bin then stick their claws in your thighs cos they want to sleep.

Not that I'm unbalanced about them or anything

Re: Held hostage by kitty

Update: I just went to the door to have another look at the cat and the next door neighbours head poked over the fence, having heard the meowing.
Lucky I wasn't caught in the act of unending a bucket of water
Apparently it's a new addition to their cat household, and is a rescue cat. Very friendly for a rescue! Anyway, came over the fence and then apparently got confused about where to go next, so was asking us for help in it's own way.
If it happens in the future, at least I know which fence to turf it over.
