Lily's gone bionic!

Poor little Lily has had an accident, we're not quite sure what happened - possibly an RTA?

Her tail had been tugged very badly resulting in the vertebra being separated by about 4cm at its base! And her pelvis had been badly broken too .

She's had as much of her tail removed as possible, to prevent gangrene, but hopefully not too much, which would damage nearby nerves and interfere with her waterworks etc.

And she has had a plate applied to her pelvis with 7 screws!!

Poor little poppet is starting to get grumpy now she is at home, but confined to cage rest for about 2 weeks. All she wants to do is play with her mate Harry, the ginger Tom .

Campagnolo and carbon fibre

Re: Lily's gone bionic!

Thanks for all your kind words folks. She's Annie's cat but I see a lot of her (and the others!) We''ve been out in the garden today digging out a hole for a humongous pond, so we took her cage out in the sun to watch us. She's getting lots of cuddles and is surprisingly mobile!

2 weeks of cage rest for her (it's a good-sized one) and then some indoor rest for a week or so. Hoping her tail isn't the source of more problems, can't cut much more off without potentially causing all sorts of other problems.

She's as bright as a button today, bless her and purring quite a bit when she gets some attention.

Does she run really slowly now and make funny "duwang-duwang-duwang" noises when she moves

Re: Lily's gone bionic!

Poor little un; hopefully she'll be OK. We've had one cat lost it's tail after a mishap with a deep fat fryer, the other got hit by cars twice ( he was called lucky!), both went on to live long, happy lives, they do have 9 of them
