A classic example of traffic improvement ... not really

there have been roadworks all over Walsall for the past 2
years and not least the Arboretum traffic island

...it used to be an island where everyone could filter in
but now this morning the local bigwigs unveiled a traffic
light system designed to ease the flow of traffic and
I kid you not, guess what, it's worse than ever

2 years in the making and they've fooked it up

...the traffic actually used to flow better while the road works
were going on than now ... speechless ... it's more than doubled
my journey time ... that's progress in somebody's eyes I guess

I have to laugh, but I do also need to get to work on time

Use of the Hospital bell:

ring once if you want anything
ring twice if it's urgent
and ring three times if it's too late

Re: A classic example of traffic improvement ... not really

Did you make it in time for dinner time, to run around with that moondust on your tongue?

On a serious note though, Bristol is the same. Not far from Temple Meads station there used to be the the St Mary Redcliffe fly-over, a wee bridge that let traffic flow round to the church. Some stiff in an office decided the 'Temple Circus Gyratory' (wtf!) would solve the problems. I know the traffics got worse since they implemented it. My dad swears like a raging mad man everytime he gets near it...

Someone, somewhere, is profiting from this horsecrap they insist on forcing upon the motorist.

of course I got there in time for the moon dust lunch

but as you say Hammy... I don't get where all the
profiteering is got from this bad town planning

...the roadworks last for years and then when it turns out
rubbish, it seems no-one is responsible ... I know that
if I made such a relative monumental **** up in my
job I'd be up against human resouces and management

I wish I could tell you Q, but I am none the wiser myself! Indeed, had you and I made an error on the scale they have/had {relative to our line of work}, we'd be right up that creek without them paddles!! How it is just looked over goes to show (in my opinion) that the profiteering goes deeper than just the most commonly thought parties
