Re: The Morning After Topgear......

I didn't get much past the middle of the show.I had already muttered "what a ******" several times and could stand it no longer. The worst bit of the show was not about the Alfas, it was the exploding tyre on the Bentley. WTF did he expect to happen. Then as ever he says "of course the first thing you do in any car is turn off the traction control". This is verging on being criminal. One day some poor sod is going to get killed because they turned off the ESR,ESP button after following this advice. Blood on his hands when it happens. What a ******
Oh and by the way my P reg 146 would not fall to bits like the cars on the show apparently did unless it was tampered with as I'm sure the cars on the programme are.
A now feeble puerile show that gets far more attention than it deserves on AO.

Re: The Morning After Topgear......

D'oh !
I just get settled , ready to ..., and somebody goes & injects a level of sanity...

As a workshy jobseeking scrounger , I've NEVER spent more than £500 on any of my Alfas (5 so far) , so I'm afraid whining about "residuals" goes WAY over my poor lowly head

Btw : following my appearance on National Tv last night , the V6 Codgermobile is now up for sale with a "Formerlly Celeb Owned" premium attached .

And Mrs Alfafemale : this must be like looking down into a muddy rockpool for you , I apologise on behalf of my gender

Re: The Morning After Topgear......

I guess the question is 'do you enjoy watching a demolition derby of old Alfa Romeos?'

Re: The Morning After Topgear......

No more than I like seeing them destory:

Porsche 944
Jag XJ12
BMW 635
Rover SDi
Dollimite
a number of Toyota Hilux's
. . .

The list just goes on and on.

And besides I reckon they pay more than they say for the cars selected and agree they are probally tampered with but then again the script is so badly tampered with as well it kinda goes hand in hand

Not to you maybe, but having just spent £50 more than what James spent on his GTV I would say that my car isn't for the chop just yet,

As they've shown before with the £10,000 supercar challenge where that Ferrari got proper hedged.

*Hedged* ~ A term used for describing driving your car into a hedge and getting it scratched to f**k

Re: The Morning After Topgear......

Whatever happened, it was bound to be a result of the fact it was ragged around a track for ages, You can't race the crap out of an old car then expect it to be absolutely fine,

The car could have easily been coasted into that layby without having to be 'Hedged' though,

True, its a shame, i know a lot of people that would have given their hind teeth for one of those, even in the condition when finished with, me for one
