Graphics Tablets

My trusty Wacom has gone the way of all things plastic and I need a new tablet for my photoshop work, but I'm on a limited budget. At the moment I'm looking at the Wacom Graphire 4 A5 bluetooth (c. £140), but if anyone else has another suggestion please let me know.

Re: Graphics Tablets

I find bluetooth HID devices a bit
hit and miss.

My mouse and keypad can have
connection issues from time to time.

Re: Graphics Tablets

I have a bluetooth keyboard and mouse at work and they seem to be OK.

Re: Graphics Tablets

I think there is an issue when they are in power down
mode and then wake up.

And the BT phone and printer probably don't
help either.

OK. Worth thinking about. I guess a cable one would be cheaper anyway

The A5 Graphire Wacom is what I use Fraser. I've got the series 3.

I got mine cheap off eBay. About £30 with the postage.

Re: Graphics Tablets

Whatever one you choose just make sure you stick with Wacom - in my opinion they are the best

But why not expand the budget a bit and go for a Cintiq 12wx
Now thats an amazing bit of kit

Probably will stick with Wacom. As for expanding the budget I have electrical items failing around my ears at the moment, so I'll have to stick with the Graphire at best.

Re: Graphics Tablets

Yeah the Wacom Cintiq is amazing but so is the price!
I use the Intuos3 at work - thats quite good but to be honest I don't tend to use it much.
Good luck with finding a new one though matey
Just out of interest - can't the old one be repaired?

It's actually just the mouse that's playing up although the pen is damaged too. The whole thing though is getting on a bit now and the surface is worn and a little sticky, so I'd be as well buying new even though a new mouse would only set me back £30.

Even more sorry for telling you! well good luck, I will ask around at work tomorrow for you and see if anyone is selling one.
