Another Watch Thread
Having a mooch around various websites still looking for that elegant, simple and classy leather strapped watch that I would like to get. Tags, Brietlings and an Omega or two seem to maybe fit the bill.
Rolex, though. WTF? Do they actually do a tasteful watch

A nice Seiko Kinetic is what you want, elegant, discrete and makes a cool sound

Re: Another Watch Thread
Classy, leather strap?
Panerai for me. You do pay for the brand, possible more so than other watches. I like the Rolex Submariner, but that's about it from them. Got a soft spot for classic watches myself, first 'proper' watch that I bought was an Omega Speedmaster
Oris do a really good range, and bl**dy great value for the quality too, as they're not worn by footballers probably

Re: Another Watch Thread
Easy one, get a Doxa!
For classy and understated a DECO fits the bill (a re-edition of their previous Graphic watch of the '50s).
Or if a bit more Rolex Submariner/Omega/Breitling style the SUB series, either 750T, 1000T or the latest 5000T.
Got 2 750Ts myself (Professional Orange dial and Sharkhunter black dial).
Much better than my Heuer 1000 and TAG 1000m Diver's, and no-one knows how good they are until they get one.
Wear a S/El chrono for work everyday (oddly enough would rather that got banged about rather than my Subs), and would much rather have a Doxa T-Graph instead.
Worn by Dirk Pitt in the Cussler novels and Jack Bauer in Day 5 of 24. (Jack had the PVD military edition of course).
Check out ;
DOXA SUB 300T
for some great unbiased comparative reviews between Doxas, Omega, Rolex et al. The guy that does them loves Doxas and has a fantastic collection, but also has some damn fine watches from other manufacturers.

...if wishes were fishes, we'd all cast nets...

Agreed, however only the Professional models are orange. There's an even brighter yellow (Divingstar), black (Sharkhunter), silver (Searambler) and lovely Brera-like blue (Caribbean).
But you gotta love the orange.
and don't get me started on the Coppa Milano-San Remo chrono....
COPPA MILANO SANREMO
check the Alfa in the reflection of the crystal...mmmm.

Re: Another Watch Thread
I was trying various watches in the local jewellers last week, didn;t quite realise how upmarket the place was until the italian girl serving me brought out a watch made out of parts of the titanic, apparently they are quite rare, tried it on it weighed a tonne and looked very nice in rose gold but when she told me it was 14 grand I carefully took it off and gave it back.
Anyway, Tag Carrera or Grand Carrera, not fussy but elegant in a man way and nice to look at. Looked at some Breitlings but they have such fussy faces, menot being a pilot I can't see the point.

Bianco Nuvola GTA | Q2 | Eibach Anti Roll Bar Kit | Weichers Front Upper Strut Brace | Goodrich Braided Hoses | Dot 5.1 Brake Fluid | SuperSprint Unsilenced Cat Back System | 19" OZ Racing Forged Superleggera's | Xenons | Huge Grin | Empty Wallet

Like that but still too much for what I'm looking for.

Nice, for a Rolex, but not quite what I'm after.

Again, I can see the attraction, but again too fussy.

Carerra is close to the top of the list, as is the Monaco:
TAG Heuer Carrera Automatic Ladies Watch > WV211B.FC6202 > Swiss Luxury Watch - Fine Ladies Watch
EDIT: I have no idea whay that link says ladies watch. It comes from the men's collection on the TAG website.

Re: Another Watch Thread
Be careful with a Monaco.
Plexiglas scratches easily (but is easily polished out) and it's the only watch I've had that has required warranty work
Mine is the 3 sub dial chronometer / chronograph with black face & black calf skin strap. It's a lovely classic watch though & I should wear it more often
