Sumo in Japan

Hi All

My brother is currently in Japan teaching English and my parents and I are coming out to visit him the back end of September. Were taking in a trip to Mt Fuji but spending most our time in Tokyo.

We have seen there is a Sumo event on during September in Tokyo and we really want to go and experience it. Does anyone have any advice as to getting tickets for it?

Obviously with my brother in Japan would he be better placed to get tickets?

If anyone has any advice it would be appreciated!!

Hey man,

there is a tournament in September and it lasts 15 days, so unless you want to see the final day, I am sure you can get tickets relatively easily. Remember, these are events that start in the morning and go on for several hours, so I wouldn't go there right at the beginning or else you'll get pretty bored by the team the big fights (usually later in the day) start.

Best to get a buddy of your brother who speaks Japanese to call one of the vendors listed on the link above and make the purchase.
