3 second kettle

How cool is this, a gadget that does exactly what it's name implies.

Just bought one, and it's keeping me suitably amused.

I must get out more...

Wonder about the longevity of something like that though...

Re: 3 second kettle

Not a bad point. I am a kettle killer . Got through 5 in the last 2 years, and not cheap ones either. We have very hard water here (shropshire) and so have to have one with a filter (or filter the water first).
They all start leaking around the joints sooner or later. I got something in writing from the store to say that they would replace/refund if this happened within 12 months.

I'm off to make a cuppa, see you in 3 seconds

Re: 3 second kettle

I have found a flaw with this item. The water doen't actually come out at boiling point. Now that's ok for me, as I only have a very small amount of milk. Mrs. zulu on the other hand likes half a flippin' pint of milk. This means that if she puts the milk in first (we're not very posh, so 'tis our way) not only does one press of the button overflow the mug, but her drink is a bit cold.

Might have to get 'his & hers' separate kettles

I am not!

It just seemed with all the comments about giving the Mrs' a "quicky" you comment was quite innuendo-ish...

Re: 3 second kettle

only to you T

How long does it take to fill the cup with boiling water because I think the 3 second thing is a bit of a rip off! Its 3 seconds to get the first bit of boiling/hot water out of it!

Honest, I am not that mind inclined....

Still, sounds like a great invention... but, what will happen to the office conversation over the boiling kettle?

Is it doomed to go the way of the Dodo and Rover?

Re: 3 second kettle

I've been waiting for our kettle to die so I can buy a 3 second jobbie, but it's dragging on and on and on.

I like my tea luke warm and end up adding loads of soya milk to make it that way so the 3 second kettle may be just the right thing.

I saw them somewhere for £50 this weekend, can't remember where tho

Re: 3 second kettle

apart from the gadget freak in all (ok many) of us - what's the proposition for these things? Are they more fuel efficient, do they live longer and therefore use less resources, or are they very recyclable?

I can't believe that the key factor is - "a cuppa in 3 seconds" because, frankly, that's trying to solve a problem where there isn't a problem.

Did these things spin out of some other technological development. One would hope so, and assume that it wasn't because some boffins, backed my industry, decided that this was a worthy investment in time, money and effort.

I mean - who would buy one of these things?

The Master of Disaster

The King of Sting

The Count of Monte Fisto

Re: 3 second kettle

Is the major efficiency probably from only boiling sufficient water for one cup - not a kettleful....that's fair enough, I guess.
