Just because some Canadian wants to eat a seal and sell its pelt to earn some money, we get all PETA and say no!
I say let them hunt seal. there are more than enough to allow sustainable hunting. Sheep have their throats cut when being slautered and you don't see any tree huggers having a whinge about that. shooting a seal in the head is better than harpooning it to death.
Let them hunt.

This is my two cents and in now way am i trying to start an arguement. just voiceing my opinion.

You hit a sheep over the head with a club and you will more than likely charged with animal cruely Normally the sheep are stunned by electricity and then killed in 'civilised countries......

However religions like Islam often do not like to use civillsed killing methods. Many Muslim Middle Eastern countries like their animals bleed to death whilst alive........and won't buy meat where the animal is first stunned.......Allah like animals to suffer

I think its the fact that they are cute, fluffy little seals that makes people get so angry about it. Lots of mammals are killed in the most appalling way for food in different countries. To be fair, the seals probably have better lives up to and including their deaths than the lives and deaths of a lot of livestock bred and raised for food in confinement in the UK IMO.

The Animal rights wacko's have deemed mulesing cruel and un-nessasary.
Now i've seen and smelt a fly-blown sheep. It's not pretty. The sheep will most likly die from bleeding to death because crows come and peck out their eyes because they can't walk.
Yes mulesing is nasty but its a darn sight better than a flyblown sheep rotting to death in a paddock.

People have been eating meat since the dawn of time and will continue to eat meat untill the end of time.

There's also the huge amount of fish they would eat if they were left to live !!!

Has to be humane though !!

I have to admit to not being terrribly well-informed about the seal culling.

We are all shocked by the barbarity of the clubbing but, that part aside, is it any worse than sheep or cattle being slaughtered for food and leather? Just because they look so adorable we are meant to feel antipathy towards the cullers.

It should be more humane than a thwack with a big stick. But hey, British courts are happy to let off yobs who do that to innocent civilians so why should we get too upset about a seal?

Ammunition is too expensive, to shoot them humanely? Rubbish! Bought in bulk the cost would be minimal. They use that barbaric method of clubbing, either with a spike, or the thick end of a club, as it means more profit! Feeble excuse to practice thuggery on dumb animals! If you must slaughter them, use a bullet, rather than raw butchery!

It's not that they want animals to suffer!! Seriously Islamic nations aren't full of people who love to inflict pain on animals and many are actually 'civillsed' as well. They won't buy meat thats not Halal for religious purposes only, not through wanting to see or know animal was in pain..

My girlfriend is Muslim and she's also a veggie.........

Just watched some of the live shots from the Sky helicopter! Little fellah's with flippers don't stand a snowballs chance in hell, and that's exactly what their snowy domains become. Needs a regiment of 500 Troopers chasing them hunters with steel sleeve ended pick helves, to do battle with them. Sickening,some were still twitching when they started to flay them. Nervous reaction? Can we try it on you to be sure? Shoot them humanely, to appease some of us!!

Slitting an animals throat and waiting for it to die by bleeding to death is certainly not without 'cruelty' and as they claim their GOD wants this done, then Allah must enjoy the pain and Cruelty......
