Re: The Chat Thread

There are several "layers" of language and I tried to study but was too busy at work

I get by given the missus is a local and I don't really have to go anywhere/do anything too complicated.

Re: The Chat Thread

Better for us, given our situation (expat, wife's parents live nearby, etc), but not sure it'd suit everyone.

Re: The Chat Thread

yes i suppose its a bit different in your case. Why do you think it wouldn't suit everyone. I am curious about the concept of living there eg Ireland used be a nice place to live up to "THE CELTIC TIGER" came and made most people think of what they can own and how much money they could make for themselves. It used be a friendly place where you could go anywhere (almost) and be safe. It is not such a safe palce now.

Re: The Chat Thread

I think it may not suit everyone as the Japanese are not particularly easy to deal with and without knowing the language, you tend to float around other expats and foreigners/mixed-couples and live a fairly secluded life.

But I can only hope to stay here as long as possible as I was sick of living in London.

I am back

Had a almond roll (tasty but sugary as heck!) this morning and had to go and brush my teeth, I could feel them rotting away
