Copper on the A473 Bridgend

I like to thank the copper who stopped for me on the A473 coming out of Bridgend towards the M4 today, after i was cut up by some knobend in a blue focus causing me to swerve and mess up my 159 to the tone of £5.5K!

i dont know if the nice police officer is a member on here but he mentioned he had a 147GTA so if your reading this Thanks again m8!

I work in Bridgend area but didn't see you or would have stopped, naturally, what road is that ? the dual out of town centre towards McArthur Glen ? what time etc plus how bad does £5.5K look like? hope you're ok tho!

its the pen-coed junction out of Bridgend m8 at the merc garage roundabout, about 6-6:30 this morning

from the out side it looks in Real good shape apart from a shattered alloy really does look in good shape ive got the space saver on and it just looks like a flat tyre job, but the steering rack is out, drop link, wishbone, upright Calliper, and on the inside the curtain roof airbag blew and the side airbag,

aye all the damage is mechanical really, i saw the quote for repair and there's not one peace of painting or body work to be done, at the moment though the insurance are umm'ing and arrr'ing about cat b-c'ing her due to the air bags but the loss adjuster knows me and knows i want to keep her on the read so will push for a repair, but if not im going to push for cash in lieu of repair and sort her myself.

well the garage im getting her from are doing the following before i pick her up on the 10th june,

both bumpers and bonnet resprayed due to stone chips, all 4 alloys re-sprayed, full service, cam belt, MOT, tax 6months, she is in Carbonio Black, with Black leather and red stitching, full alloy dash, she's a saloon, i would of died for a sportswagon but looks good in a saloon aswell, ive got a satnav/dvd/tv etc player to go in her and a new front grill badge. xenon lights, P-zeros all round with a good deal of grip left on the 19's. 60odd K miles on the clock, heated electric seats, splitting folding rear seats, Manual gearbox, parking sensors (even though previous owner as bumped the rear bumper!! but being sorted for me) but the best part is the amount my insurance are paying out for my 07 1.9 Jtdm Turismo left me buy her and have a little money put away for the all important tyre cost shortly down the line!

and yes i will defo be out to show her off !!!

ill have some pics up the day i pick her up,
if theres any meets after the 10th june ill try and come along, but i do a lot of work on the continent so trying to fit one in usually proves hard work.

btw the garrage ive bought my last 2 alfas from is Sinclair direct on the A473 just past the Tescos roundabout, ive got to give them a Huge thumbs up for Pre and after sales service, the warranty u get with the cars is second to none imo i had a egr valve die on my last 159 and it was in, changed and back with me within hours of me taking it down there. i needed a new lower wishbone about 6months after buying her, they ordered the part and while they fitted it they also throw in a oil and brake fluid change for me FOC!
the sales guys work hard there but will always find time for you even if they are run off there feet.

and on that note im off to Paris for a few days have fun guys!

np they guys at sinclairs do work hard for you, and the sales manager Brian is a top man,
back from Paris but no car yet,. currently in germany Mannhiem back on the 10th so finngers crossed the car is ready and waiting for me"!

bahh ive just had to delay the delivery date untill the 15th as im back out in Germany untill then, instead of back for the 10th, ive got real itchy feet about getting the Ti but cant be helped i suppose

2 days an counting, spoke to the garage today and everything is done its just sat there waiting for me to collect !!!! im going nuts sat here drinking beer and eating steak but not being able to collect my TI!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the Only thing making making it slightly better is the waitreses are all in tipical german wench clothing, but and i might be sad in saying this but id rather look at the 159 im waiting for!

i start the long drive home in 5 hours on the plus note i have 200lts of derv in the back of the coach ready for the Ti!!! bought it at a very good £1 a lt seems the price of derv down here isnt as bad as at home so no need to worry about mpg for a few weeks!
leave here 5:45pm get onto the boat for 7.20am wednesday get off the boat and back into uk time for 8.20am ive got a hours drive to drop the coach off and pick up a car to head home to s/wales so should be home for about 1pm with my new ALFA!!!!!
