Bristol Italian Auto Moto Festival Saturday 25th April 2009 Lancia to be the Featured Marque Lancia will be the Featured Marque at next year's Bristol Italian Auto Moto Festival to mark the 30th anniversary of the introduction of the original Delta model. The organisers are working with the Lancia Motor Club to feature a wide range of Lancias of all ages to make this a most memorable show. Once again there will be wide ranging displays of Italian cars and bikes of all marques and ages to set the Italianesque 'Old City' streets alive with Italian chic and design flair. All car entries must be pre booked (with full name, address, phone & mobile numbers and vehicle details - marque, model, year, reg. no.) to: biamf@ourhemanpal.co.uk or 0117 947 5814. If using a transporter vehicle please advise as it will also need a pass. Why not make a note in your diary to come on down and take part in the best free Italian vehicle festival in the country? This event makes for a grand day out just looking at all the exciting cars and bikes on display, chatting with the owners and making new friends. The City's shopping centre and markets are nearby and worth a browse too. Also nearby, the historic harbour is lined with attractions, museums, historic boats and ships including Brunel’s ‘SS Great Britain’ and a replica of John Cabot’s ship the Matthew. (A little known fact - in the year 1497, the Bristol-based Cabot sailed in the original Matthew to reach the North American mainland before Columbus!)"

Re: Bristol Italian Auto Motor Festival

Folks,
Please remember that all car entries must be pre-booked.
Marshals needed: We need to rely on a good team of willing marshals to help on the day. Without them the Festival cannot be held. Marshals must be able to report for duty at 06.45 am on the day of the Festival and be able to work until about 10.30 am and again from 3.45 pm until about 4.30 pm. Duties will include: checking entrants in at the entry points, guiding cars into display positions and using ramps to get cars up the kerbs. At the end of the Festival the marshals will assist entrants to safely leave the Festival streets, including using ramps to get the cars off the pavements. During the Festival you may be needed at certain times to help monitor an area but of course you can do this while you look at the cars and bikes. Please let me know if you will be able to help us with marshalling when you Email your entry. Being a marshal has the added benefit that because of the early arrival, your car gets a good display position.
The event has a dedicated website - BIAMF

PS many thanks to the people who took the pictures on our website - Stuart in particular! (Great work getting the Mayor to asy "Cheese")!

I'll be there as a spectator. A diesel 147 isn't really anything special enough to be a show car

Re: Bristol Italian Auto Motor Festival

IMO the show is there to show off something special and a 147 doesn't really cut the mustard against Ferraris, De Tomasos, Lambos and the Zonda. GTAs are pretty special but a pre-facelift 147 Lusso?

And when they all sit there and rev the engines, the tell-tale clatter of a cold diesel ringing out won't exactly be music to the ears of the public.

That is true but you dont need to rev your engine mate - just go listen to the Lambos etc.

Its Italian and therefore not out of place in my humble opinion.

I plan to attend this one as it looked fantastic last year ! if you want to show your car how do you get a permit and are you committed to stay parked up for the whole day? i only ask as i'm coming from Sussex! if not showing what's the deal on nearby parking?
Thanks in advance

Re: Bristol Italian Auto Motor Festival

Guys you do need a permit to park up at the show and you will need to stay from 9.30 until 4pm - so not to bad.

E-mail Paul for a permit - biamf@ourhemanpal.co.uk or 0117 947 5814

There are plenty of multi story car parks close bye.

Darren - give it a valet and get the thing on show mate all cars are welcome and the more the better & zoe yellow is a rare colour so it will attract some attention.

Sean

Re: Bristol Italian Auto Motor Festival

I will be showing mine and I will be topless providing the weather is ok.

There is no time limit just a set number of spaces and once they have been taken you go on a reserve list.

I would get your permit early and if you cant attend just cancel with Paul.

Plenty of places to stay though.
