Hotels in Pembrokeshire
WELSH PEOPLE
Where is a nice hotel in Pembrokeshire, when I was a small boy my parents took me to Tenby every year on holiday, I want to revisit the area and see if it is as I remember it. I'll be driving down after the EVO Triangle Meet with my wench.
Looked at ones in Tenby and they all look a bit dilapidated and tripadvisor.com hasn't pointed me in the direction of anything nice.
Any castles or converted period properties would be ideal
Also if anybody knows, what is the best restaurant down there?
Sorry for intruding and thanks muchly for any advice.
Sean

Re: Hotels in Pembrokeshire
good idea tenby is great.
decent restaurants there - plantagenet which is good but a bit pricey
-blue ball good simple food
-qube decent steaks etc - all fairly informal.
great fish and chips at fecci's.
best coffee and lunch/snacks in vista cafe - overlooks north beach but just off the main street and well worth looking for.
tenby hotels - yes nothing 4-5 star prob the best is the atlantic which overlooks south beach.
hotels a little further away are the wolfscastle, about 30-40 mins away in newport, pembrokeshire is llys meddig which is top notch for rooms and food.
hope this helps,pm me if there is anything i can help with info on.

Re: Hotels in Pembrokeshire
Been down that way recently myself with my family and the qube and blue ball were good for food. Can't recommended any hotels however as we stayed in a family house near Haverfordwest. It was lovely down there however

Re: Hotels in Pembrokeshire
St.Brides is a lovely hotel, although it isn't in Tenby, just a few miles away. Lovely hotel with spa and restaurant. Another lovely place to stay where there is a great restaurant and self catering cottages is Broad Haven. Both places have a good rep. Hope you enjoy! Weathers terrible here atm

Re: Hotels in Pembrokeshire
Hi Gh,
I pressume you will be using the A487 on your way down? If I was you I would not go to Tenby I would stay on the A487 and carry on to St Davids (have a look on map). Its a small village with good restaurants and the wench will love it (very romantic). Stunning view, setting and scenery.

Re: Hotels in Pembrokeshire
If you can get in try the Druidstone Hotel near Broadhaven - has own website - very good and perched on the side of a hill overlooking the sea. Has own beach and holiday cottages, quite a zany place, well worth trying. If you go to St. Davids try the Bench, Cwtch or Morgans restaurants or the very reasonable restaurant in the cathedral itself.
Strangely West Pembrokeshire is devoid of really good small hotels which is a shame, everyone seems to stop at Tenby. If you have time travel a bit further west - worth it!

Re: Hotels in Pembrokeshire
try anywhere in Tenby, none are particularly great if your looking for 4 / 5 stars but they're all close to the centre. like Cooldudeoli says St. Brides in Saundersfoot is very tidy now - if you want to pay if your happy with B&B head to my local ( when I'm back home ) .. The Wisemans Bridge in, 6 miles ish outside of Tenby and 2 from Saundersfoot - on the sea front.. if it's a cracking weekend the views are stunning.

Re: Hotels in Pembrokeshire
Try Saundersfoot, it's about 2 miles from Tenby with a lovely village centre and harbour. I prefer it to Tenby as it's more laid back. There's a hotel that was refurbished about two years ago, I'll try to remember it's name. We were in Tenby 3 weeks ago with our tourer.

Re: Hotels in Pembrokeshire
Thanks for all the input folks, in the end it was quite difficult finding somewhere that actually had rooms but now booked in here.
