Taffia meet Sunday 25th May: 25-05-2008

New date guys and gals, my mistake, sorry...

I think we are doing this as a 'Western Wales' jobbie, so, we will meet somewhere in Abertawe... As you are the 'local' Taffia there MLC, upto you to find the best roads for us to explore etc... OK?

I have the AA road map of Great Britain in one hand, and a glass of red wine in the other! I'm onto it .....! :-)

Mind you, how good my journey planning is will largely depend on amount of wine consumed, you have been warned .....!! :-)

Idea number 1:

Meet at Sarn Park Services at a time to suit everybody.
Blast down M4, come off at J42 Fabian Way into Swansea and follow the road right the way down to the Mumbles.

There's an Italian Ice Cream shop called Verdi's where we can all park up the Alfa's and have a nice Italian coffee and ice cream! There's also the Mumbles Mile, though we won't be able to take full advantage as we are driving!

It will probably be packed as it's a busy place, but I think our Alfa's will draw quite a crowd!!! We could have a spin around the Gower then if you like!

Anybody interested, or would you prefer something more like country roads and pubs and stuff?

Sounds like a good route, are there any good country road runs around Abertawe? (Honest question, not a dig this time )

Also, if its sunny I think the beach and ice cream would be spot on

Went to verdis today. Packed out. If we are going then we need to meet early on Sunday. We should meet no later than 10am just to make sure we can all park together at verdis. Its a big carpark but remember its a bank holiday weekend. I cant wait by the way!!

Are we using Verdis as the start or end point of out romp around Abertawe?

I think we should use it as the start! Meet at sarn at 10am and drive to verdis for ice cream/coffee. Have a chinwag etc then go for a blast down the Gower. Lets take some photos this time and post them. Anyone got a good digital camera?

I am going to nick my Parents Cannon EOS-150, it’s a pro camera so should get some good shots. It was coming to the meet for the Dealership, but, we all know how that went.

I already got the route for our next meet sorted. Gonna try and see if people want to meet in the East, I used to live there so I know a *****ing route we could do and a few nice stops

Been for a quick spin down the gower this afternoon. Rhosilli was packed and was a nightmare to get to so we have another route planned as an alternative. South Gower Rd to Reynoldston. Stop at Cefn Bryn for photos and back into Swansea along the North Gower Rd. We will have a chat in Verdis to decide what to do after the Gower run.

Sounds good to me, hope there might be a few new members on this run too

Sounds like a great day. Gutted I won't be able to make it, especially as my 159 will be celebrating its 3-day birthday on Sunday.
