Little 1.6TS engine is it? What MPG you get from that?

Right then diesel boy. That sounds like a challenge!! Its not about mile per gallon with an Alfa but smiles per gallon!! But seeing as you will never know what 7000 rpm sounds and feels like then enjoy your clatter
Mrs ML is cringing

By the way that was a genuine question, I am looking for a 147 for my mum. I didn't think you'd be that harsh, but... OK...
I'll ask someone else...

Re: Taffia meet Sunday 25th May
Dont be like that tony. I was only joking Seriously a 1.6 ts will do 40 mpg no problem. Ive got 500 miles on a tank full of petrol. Its quick enough for everyday use and Mrs ML loves it! Even if she cant drive it

Re: Taffia meet Sunday 25th May
My mum, currently, has a 2litre Rover 620SLi (Curb weight is something like 1.6ton!)
So it does f*ck all mpg, I wanna know is the smaller 1.6 is quick enough for her to have as it'll be a lower tax bracket then the 2.0JTS...

Re: Taffia meet Sunday 25th May
It's one hell of a fast little car to be honest.
Its small enough for round town and a size that is easy for women to drive - but can really shift when it needs to!! The Mrs loves hers, once she works out the gears that is . . . .!
To be honest Tony a 1.6 with 16 valves and variable timing and a 7000 rev limit that is easy to achieve is not a recipie for economy. Its like having 2 cars. Keep the engine under 3000 revs and it will potter about like a normal car but once the variator kicks in at 3500 then all hell breaks loose!

Re: Taffia meet Sunday 25th May
Might not be a good idea then. My mum is used to a very sedate tank with an automatic gear box.
She really wants an automatic diesel convertable that is small
