Meet in Feb

Hey guys.

To get the ball rolling I was thinking about meeting up on the 3rd of Feb. Purely 'cos that'll give us time to organise and also keeps us away from the Valentines weekends (10th and 17th) for the those who are taking their loved ones away.

So how about at the good old Plymouth Arms?! Most of us know where that si and newcomers can have the addy for sat nav or join a convoy? How does this sound?

If most are up for it I'll make it an event.

Hi Stuart,

Sorry it has taken me a few days to reply - I have been in Chicago - bloody cold and hard work. Spent more time in planes & airports than actually doing any work.

If this is confirmed then we can arrange to met somewhere along the M4.

Trust me 19 hours to get there - 19 hours back for 10 hours in the office - Fantastic.

Beer was cold and free - always tastes better when the company are paying.

Now Cape Town is a much nicer place to visit at this time of year - its warm.

Pedalos and the lazy sod with me did not want to do anything except drink beer - No Aer Lingus.

2 hours to Brum - 2.5 hours in Brum - 1 hour to Dublin - 2.5 hours in Dublin then 9 hours to Chicago.

An hour to the hotel by taxi.

To many transfers etc.

Wouldn't it have been quicker to drive to Birmingham, then just fly from there ?

I could think of better places to transfer in Nearly got snowed-in at Detroit airport a few years back ! They got the flight up early, and twenty mins later shut the airport. It didn't open till after Christmas.

Morning, Only morning thow, not good morning!!!! This morning on the way to work I hit a flood and as a result of this I am now the proud owner of a 156 V6 with knackered engine!!!(Flooded, bent pistons etc etc) So Im affraid I doesnt look like Il be able to make the Feb meet chaps!!!!

We did drive to Brum but in a dugga dugga C5 estate (Should be called state) company pool car - its bloody wrecked.

No snow in Chicago thank God.

Transfer was dublin - Guiness was good apparantely - I was driving.

Luckily, I took my van up to Gloucester today. A few cars were stopped at the side of the road.

I know I should avoid the puddles, but I was heading for a meeting at work and it didnt look that deep, so being a fool I tried to go threw!!! Ive got a feeling its gonna be an expensive fix, or even worse....DEAD. Its not lookin good thats for sure!!!

And no, I cant claim on the insurance, coz I decided to go into the floed area, and apparantley engine damage is covered on insurance anyway!!! Bugger
