Thank you North Wales . . .

Spent weekend blitzing across your roads in GTV 3.0. I think the noise is still echoing through the valleys!

What a great time, some absolute cracking roads and some gorgeous scenery too.

Fuel bill is going to be harsh - but so worth it!

Thanks

The valleys are in South Wales boyo, we've got mountain passes up here

Stunning scenery isn't it where did you go/visit?

Fair point.

Dollgeellau to Welshpool on A458 (Not bad, warm up road)

Welshpool to Bala via A490 and B4391 (Brilliant)

Evo Triangle (I was hammering this triangle keeping up with a local guy in an S2000, he knew the road so well, I loved following him, but it was a real challenge to keep up, and best of all, no slow traffic or caravans in sight.)

Ysbyty Ifan to Ffestiniog B4407 (Stunning views, although not that great in my GTV the undulations kept meaning I was grounding the rear quite often so had to back off on this one, car is Lowered and has rear apron skirt thats the main reason)

Ffestiniog to Betws-Y-Coed

Dollgeellau to Barmouth via A496 (really nice wide open road, lot of bikers and overtaking areas)

Barmouth to Beddgelert

Beddgelert to Caernarfon via A4085 (Not best road, single track for most of it)

Caernarfon to Betws-Y-Coed A4086 via Llanberis Pass (love this road, but Caravans are so frustrating)!

And many more random roads that I stumbled upon. 580miles in two days (that includes trip to and from Cheltenham).

I will post a few pics later. . .

Cracking, sounds like it was a busy weekend

We still seem to be in caravan season! The best time for the Llanberis Pass is mid winter, mid week, non holiday time and even then you'll get stuck behind a 90 year old in his ageing Metro!!

I look forward to your pics

Great road choice Next time make sure you follow the A5 from Betws Y Coed to Bangor via the Ogwen Valley, when it's quiet it's a very fast road. Last week I had a V8 land rover () try and keep up with me. I lost him past Tryfan going towards Capel Curig. Oh and the scenery is spectacular too

So you found Yippette Ivan then ( I was asked a few years by 2 holidaying Americans where Yippette Ivan was...then they showed me their map ) . The roads around there can make your brakes overheat!

ALFA ROMEO 156 1.8 VELOCE

North Wales is like the French Riveria and Switzerland with hints of both all rolled into one. It's a drivers playground of sweeping inland roads, mountain passes and great coastal roads.

Me & my Alfa love it
