My car is due its MOT soon and I just notice the inside edges are very worn but can't afford to replace till end of month (just got back of holiday). Not sure if she will hold up to three laps of the Evo Triangle. Might pop in for a bite to eat and say...

Nice, wish I lived a bit closer as I really love it around there, axedude if you haven't before and if you get the opportunity have a drive out to a place called Gwytherin then continue through it and out the otherside, the roads pretty much single track at times but when you get on the top the view and the roads are well worth it

I came at it from Conwy and stayed at the Red Lion, very nice country pub

Sorry not red lion, lion inn.

The Lion Inn - Bed and Breakfast, and Fine Dining in a Luxury Country Inn

My bad.

Although the sign for the Lion in is a Red lion so thats prob where my confusion lies.

You wont regret it there's a parking spot on the tops looking across the range to snowdonia and the view is spectacular, probably one of the only places where you can see the whole range from high enough up outside it.

Being set deep in the valley, it's not possible to receive a mobile phone signal, although the village does have a traditional red telephone box which is in frequent use and a vase a fresh flowers can always be found in there.

I can't see that taking off in Rhyl.

I over on Anglesey this week, and will be travelling back on Saturday,
haven't decided which way to go back yet, so may pass through Betws
I may have to time it to go through about 1, so if you see a red 155 be sure to wave

I think we'll eat at the Swallow Falls in the pub, so we'll be there for a good hour and half I reckon.

I've put together a route, taking in Gwytherin as Ghosty suggested

@ Ghosty - where was the parking area you suggested?

Swallow Falls to Triangle

Does anyone know of anywhere else that would be a good drive around there that could be included in the route?

Studying the route, it aint half bad.

The only problems I have:

The A543 on the triangle is just ridiculously knackered in places so a bit dodgy.

The A548 coming out of llanrwst. Seriously need to do this road coming into llanrwst so going down the big hill. My mate lives up in Trefriw so I do this road quite a lot and coming down the hill around the sweeping corners is rather fun.

The B4391 from Bala to Penybontfawr is one i`d reccomend if you`re ever around Bala way.
Some tight bends along the way, & the downhill section right by the cliff edge is unreal

Hi its a bit late for suggestions i know but A542 Horseshoe pass to ruthin in either direction and A4086 Pass of Llanberris good views but maybe busy with walkers and bikes depending on the weather,
if you remember we attempted the A4086 during the north wales run and got stuck behind a range rover!!!
Anyway regardless of the route it will be amazing just what Alfas were built for.

For everyone coming, bring some change for the Swallow Falls car park - I think it was £1 last time but you get a refund if you have food in the pub.

I waved as I went past the car park about 12:35.
Radar, were you on the A5 about 12:50 just outside of Betws, saw a darkish Blue 156 heading towards Swallow Falls around that time,
I did wave, but the weather was awful, and couldn't see if any reply. (BTW is was in a Red 155)
