the in-laws have booked a little country cottage in a place called cwrt. they went down yesterday for a week, we're joining them on tuesday. the temptation to go in my car is getting almost unbearable i can tell ya for a welshman it's not a part of the country i know well at all, can't wait to go exploring

I,m sure that Cwrt is on the road to Aberdyfi , we are 17 miles to the east of Mach. Little village called Carno, on the A 470, used to be the hub of the Laura Ashley empire....
Not much in our village now though.

i used to do a really good 'un when i was learning to drive - the coastal route round anglesey, stunning coastline all the way from cliffs & headlands to sandy beaches & dunes, to woodland & hills - nearly all empty roads as well outside of summer
I'm not too familiar with pubs etc in that area so need good directions!!
there's a big hotel/pub on the left as you get into betws from the conwy valley with bags of parking - i think it's the royal oak? it's the biggest one in town anyway, you can't miss it. failing that the main public car park is on the opposite side of the road with even more parking plus a good cafe/shop/public bogs etc

I know the main car park in Betws, met friends there a few yrs ago. Seem to remember it was very busy in the summer?
