what do u think about the GT?

Thinking of buying an Alfa Romeo GT with a 2.0 JTS engine... it will be my first Alfa. Any comments about it? How is the air-conditioning system? Is the Alfa a car that always needs to go for a fix-up?

many thanks for any info.

Salam

The GT is a great car, and actually generally very reliable. I never had any problems with my V6 GT (apart from squealy brakes which is a prob unique to the V6 model)

The air con works fine, and fairly efficiant, im sure it should cope with the heat of Dubai

Its a stunning car. I think its as good as any other car. Look after it well and it will look after you for sure.

It gets pretty hot here in South Africa as well, and these cars seem to cope just fine.

I don't think you will ever regret buying a GT.

thanks guys for ur replies. They give me a great boost of confidence.
dan, the GT i'm looking at is a 4 cylinder. Don't know if that changes anything. THe reviews i have read online are all about models 2007 and older. They all seem to be a little negative which is why i am on here trying to figure things out. Does yours have the selespeed gearbox? and if yes, any issues with it?

mucho thank yous

I have a selespeed on my GTA but that is a slightly different system to the 2l. So Can't comment on that.

Cooling is fine, never had any problems with overheating except when a fuse blew for the fans.

Ac takes around 10 minutes to get cool in summer but from then on it works great. It is not Toyota AC ;-)

Alfa No 7 - GTV V6 3.0L

Get the V6 GT - the 2 Litre GT feels like a Brick getting off the line and will be terrible in stop start traffic.

The selespeed I drove was basically terrible, kept on changing gear when I didnt want it to - but maybe that was just me not knowing which buttons to push.

The V6 GT manual was a breath of fresh air in comparison to the 4 cylinder car.

Ive had 7 Alfas and they are fine if you look after them properly the same as any other car.

But the main thing with Alfas is the style and charisma you get with the Marque.
