Maintenance in Dubai

Hi Fellows,
I just bought a second hand Alfa Romeo 156 from some one in dubai. Does anybody know any good and cheap place for maintenance?
Any contacts to recommend? Thanks.

Re: Maintenance in Dubai

Main Dealer is Gargash on Sheikh Zayed Rd (near Gold and Diamond Centre/Umm Sequiem Rd). OK service but pricey (as you would expect with dealer overheads)

There are basically two options...

Gargash - 04 340 3333 (contact; Gavin - Service Manager)
Abdulla Ahli Garage - 04 267 8586 (contact; Hussein - Owner)

I do all maintenance of my car at the Abdulla Ahli Garage, mechanical issues and so on, but when it comes to bodywork, Gargash are untouchable.. their work is excellent..

They also have some good mechanics, but sometimes take long to get the job done and parts are expensive, however, they're professional as the dealers..

So ultimately the choice is yours..

Would like to inform everybody that I'be been buying spares here: Bertelsbeck Automotive

It's in Germany, they ship via DHL, have extensive range of parts available, and prices are good.

Hey there Marco, thanks bro, this is a good tip, myself and Mo have been using EB spares and Alfisti.net for quite some time now. Will check this shop out.

There's a thread on AO about online shops:

http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/tunin...ine-shops.html (Alfa tuning - Online shops)

Please go ahead and include this shop on there.

Cheers Marco, chat soon

Thanks for the information... much appreciated. The shipping bills are huge to the UAE and if we can save on this, we can buy more frequently...

Now we are doing group buys... so thanks man much appreciated, and welcome to AO by the way xsailor...

Re: Maintenance in Dubai

I have a shop and ship account for Qatar...........its works well for lightweight items but pretty expensive for heavier items, I sometimes use it if I buy stuff from ebay

Aramex give you an address and Box No. in the US and UK, you then just ship your items to that address and Aramex deliver the item to their office in UAE. You then just go to the office pick up the item and pay for the shipping........its a one off payment of $35 to setup an account

24 kilograms, and it was GBP 195... ouch...

EB only use Datapost... it's expensive but it only takes 2 days...

i've tried other methods like with Danzas, and it was a pain... cos i had to go into Danzas' offices in Cargo Village, collect the shipping documents, then go to customs also at cargo village, pay the duty, then went back to Danzas with the duty paid slips, collected the release form, then went to customs again to give them the Danzas release form and proof of payment... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh , by the time i was done, i had wasted 3 hours in cargo village and i was really ****ed off...

I wanted to suggest Royal Mail... cos I bought some parts off a shop called Classic Alfa as a trial buy, and the stuff came through in 5 days, but with no hassles at all..

Royal Mail seems sorted... they have three services that suit us...

Airmail
Airsure
International Signed For

They all have international tracking, and once the stuff arrives, all you have to do is go to Karama post office to collect and pay customs... all in one spot and now Empost closes at 10H30 in the evening, much better than 14H00 like before..

Just a quick update, Gargash will launch a new quick lube type service centre to allow customers to get a service while they wait. Sounds good and it should open in one month

2003 Alfa 156 Q System

I know this an old thread and I've been taking my car to Hussain in Al Ahli Garage for years. But today my brother went to a mall and took my car. When he came back to the car, he noticed this a card for this place on the windscreen.

Home - B5 Auto Garage

Looks promising. I live quite close to them, might check them out about the bodywork on my car since Hussain doesn't do that.
