Wave MITCAR (Midlands Italian Car Day) Sunday 10/8/08

Guys & Gals.

I've cleared this event with Happy Man

MITCAR is being held this coming Sunday. It is a well established & attended Italian Car Day in the Midlands

This year it is being held at the exquisite Holdenby which is situated just 6 miles from Northampton and just a few miles off Junction 18 on the M1.

The event is organised by a chap called Bryan Alexander who is an AROC Central & East Midlands stalwart and will be well attended by numerous Italian Car Clubs and forums including Ferrari Club UK, Fiat Forum, AROC and so on. The Sud register will be there too.

Amongst others, myself, Clare, GTleigh & Mrs GTleigh will be on the gate, taking monies and allocating parking.

The cost is £5.00 to get in (per car, children free) and this gets you a £3.00 discount (normally £5.00 but £2.00) on the falconry exhibitions & to the gardens.

There's on site catering & dogs on a lead are allowed.

I think it'll be an excellent opportunity for AOers to spread the word (and our leaflets) so I will contact both Regional Reps to let them know / drum up interest.

I've been before and the turnout and variety of cars is astounding.

Prizes are given for the best / most interesting / most different cars. Entrants get given a voting form

Hope to see some of you there

Cheers,

Simon

Was there last year in the Montreal - worth the trip from Cornwall. Will try to make it again this year.

Re: MITCAR (Midlands Italian Car Day) Sunday 10/8/08

Hi everyone.

This is what I posted in the East Mids Section. Thanks

It was a good day although I found my marshalling a tad tiring

Despite the weather, I think everyone had a great time

Those that ventured into the house and saw the falconry said it was amazing and well worth the additional £2.

Clare & mandy, GTleigh's wife really enjoyed taking everyone's money on the (litteral) gate

Great to say hi to loads of people and thanks to Green Berlina for the Italian cakes

Sorry I didn't get to say hello to you Lauren I marvelled at your wonderful car, as I have done so at a few of the shows

The support from the Fiat Forum, Fiat Motor Club GB, Stilosports Club, Clubcento, Ferrari OC not to mention all the AOers that turned up was excellent

The Nuvo 500 crew (Angel Tuning), Italian Minitures & Motorvogue also supported the event and the catering was nice if you braved the long queue.

It's a not for profit event and a significant amount of the balance left after the costs were covered went to the Myton Hospice which looks after those with terminal cancer.

All in all, in excess of 230 Italian cars came on the day.

Brilliant
