Hello everyone,
As some of saw on my previous topics since I bought my '02 Alfa romeo 156 1.9jtd 115hp back in april, started repairing it, i'm pretty much done repairing most of the major failures and I've done a happy 10K km with it since then. I'm still having some electronic failures and I'm ordering a VAG KKL from idiagnostics with adapters to diagnose everything myself.
Now I'm starting to think about adding more power, I have already blanked the EGR, stainless intercooler-engine pipe, new timing belt, pulley, intercooler and some other parts.
I want to remap the ECU for some extra unicorns, I'm wondering about what tools would I need first and then maybe I can try different maps(of you can provide me with links i will appreciate it).
I'm not used to ECU remapping so I would like to know more from you and if you have any suggestions feel free to post them, i'm not looking for huge increase, just few healthy horses without pushing the engine too hard.

Save yourself the headaches and go to a professional tuner or if looking for few skinny jades just go for a tuning box (i feel a breeze of rant already). Or call for public mercy and maybe someone knowledgeable does it for you.
Even if you had a manual, there are such many dependencies between one table and another, so much to risk and so much theory behind, a forum post cannot help.

The thing is, the tuners here are only familiar with german cars, there only two 156 in my city including mine and I'm afraid they'll push the engine too hard or something. I do know someone who's an engineer and works in factory ECU programming with Lear corporation he's a friend of mine and can provide me with some help.
Also most importantly what tools would I need to perform this ?
