Chipping my twin spark, advice needed please

I am now thinking of chipping my twin spark gtv, i have changed the exhaust and air filter which has improved things, next phase is possibily replace the standard chip. Autodelta have a chip for my ts for £200 which should give me 10-12hp.
The question is, will i notice 10-12hp increase, i will notice £200 from my wallet.

So if anyone has chipped their bella, could you let me know what you thought of that mod??, or from the other side of the coin, why i should not,

Cheers

you'll feel it more than the filter and exhaust, and probably less in the wallet.... took 1 sec of my quarter mile time.....

I would strongly advise talking to Red Dot in Watford. Speak to Augusto and ask for his opinion.

You will be able to lose that lag feeling you get below 3000RPM...

If you are a paid club member here you will also get a 10% discount on the price. (cheaper and better than autodelta IMO)

Not mappable through ODB port at that age I wouldn't have thought?

Augusto at Red Dot should be able to sort you out though, I enquired about an R-reg V6 a while ago and he said he'd have to take out the ECU to map it, and it'd take a while but it could be done for some very nice gains.

Doubt any mobile tuners could offer it..

The best chip IMO for this engine is the Squadra chip. They do have a website, and I think the chip is around £160 and gives around 13bhp

Do go for a Titan chip, I had one in my 145 QV and I did not rate it.

Totally agree, I've a Squadra chip in my 145 and its really noticible especially low down in the rev range. I may have to get the 156 re-mapped as my wife is complaining about lack of low end power compaired to the Squadra'd 145 she had previously.
Keep your eye out on all the forums for cars with your engine management system and you may drop on one second-hand. I got both mine like this, one for £70 and one for £50

Red Dot. As Pud mentioned they can still do this.

Mobile tuning companies wont touch the cars before pre 98.

Squadra is a reliable company, and they will emphasise on more torque and more available bhp in higher revs. More expensive (approx. 1200GBP), but more power is provided by Madeno, another recommended Alfa tuner.

Dont know much about Madeno, but I would recommend Squadra for the older cars. They have come pretty highly recommended.

Let me know how you get on, as I'm thinking of doing that myself.

I thik you will notice 10 bhp more - its aboout the same difference as between a 1.8 and a 2.0 TS - and people certainly notice that

There are a few people on alfa145.com that have used squadra chips to good effect. It may be worth doing a search on there.

Re: Chipping my twin spark, advice needed please

I had my 156 2.0ts (selespeed) remapped by RedDot this week, it took my HP from 146 to 159, but better than that the response from the car is much better, take off is quicker, it feels much livlier to drive. Well worth the £200. (and i got a cup of coffee when i turned up which was truly appreciated)

Later today, for those that are interested, I will scan and post on here the before and after printouts.

It is IMHO worth doing although the gains arent as great as for tubo cars the drive really improves, and , from my experience, I would recommend Red Dot.

Glad you like the remap. It is well worth it.

Just the one this time, its of the 2nd run after remap with original pre remap results (feint lines).

1st run post remap gave hp of 156 ( I kid you not), 2nd run slightly higher after ecu 'learns' new parameters.

If anyone wants the others posted let me
