Unicorse

Some of you may know that I recently purchased a new exhaust from japan at the above mentioned company.

this being there website
リアマフラー フロントパイプ センターパイプ 給排気

I have had the exhaust on now for a little while and its now fully burnt in and all I can say is wow!

Travelling inside the car is as refined as a 156 ever was. Road noise and wind noise over powers any noise from the exhaust when on a gentle run. The sound is a bit deeper then normal as you would expect but in no way does it annoy on a long run

Give it some beans and it comes alive!! real nice rasp not big basey tones you get from your average bean cans. It really does compliment the alfa V6 engine

I purchased the front pipe and rear silencer, front pipe is equal lenght and reason for purchase is power mod. The power delivery to me seems smoother then was before and it has added the overrun burble that wasn't present before The back box was purchased for my audible pleasure.

Some people asked if the exhaust sounds anything like it does on the website. I have made a small vid clip for you to judge for yourself.
The quality isn't the best but I think you will get the picture

This gear isn't cheap, shipping from japan is also a pain, all in probably costs 1.5 times the price of your usual exhaust companies (SS etc)
For the sound alone and the likely hood of meeting anyone else with this exhaust to me is worth it

Re: Unicorse

Enzo. I totally agree even I haven't listen to it in real life. But that's the only exhaust I'll go for it if I'm looking for an aftermarket exhaust.

They do But it's a shame the only real tuning complany in Japan is JUN the rest like to outsource there products and then slap their name on them. Which is rather sad, seening as back int he day they where all great tuners.

Few of the lads over here go over to Japan quite regularly. Things like turbos come from the top three suppliers KKK, Garret and IHI and then change the name to Blitz or HKS or Greedy.

Re: Unicorse

Enzo that sounds awesome. What sections have you had fitted? Cat bk or? Does anyone have a ball park figure of how much a rear bk box would be from unicorse for a 147gta? Would you still get that high pitched sound effect with just a back box? cheers

Re: Unicorse

as mentioned above I have a front pipe (pipe that fits to the manifolds and then fixes to the front of the cat) and the rear box.
The Manifolds are standard along with the cat and the middle section with silencer are standard.

If you watch my vid, you will see to the right a vid of a 156gta with just the unicorse backbox.. (that is an english car, maybe the owner frequents this forum???????) I think its a bit deeper in tone then mine.
link YouTube - Alfa 156 GTA with Unicorse Type II Muffler

realistically your looking at 1 to 1.5k per piece shipped gbp

PS: you cant go thro Unicorse direct, there is a company in the UK Home that will get any part you need and ship to the uk or europe. (you will have to phone)

Re: Unicorse

I've send an email to Newera for an Unicorse Muffler for my GTA...

But I just find out... "due to rising costs of Titanium, Unicorse has withdrawn this product from the market for the Alfa 147"

That's the answer...
