Help ICE upgrade

Hi,

can you suggest me some good subwoofers for a 155 -96? I want to get more bass than from my current setup...

I've already struck my eyes on BP-21200 amp, which one of my German friends suggested me earlier this month. Any of you have any experience of those?

Some review about the BP-21200

Now please, suggest me some subwoofers you have personal experiences with. (in a 155) For now, I've been thinking some JBL 3-way speakers also, but if you have any real suggestions for the 155, please let me know!

PM or send msg here, I will read it asap. Thanks in advance for any suggestions...

Re: ICE upgrade

I dont know about the 155 but i run a Mutant 4 channel amp, with two 10" Rockford Fosgate Punch subs and its perfect for my needs.

All thats connected to an Alpine CD/MP3/IPOD headunit and it works wonders. Just the right amount of bass to make music sound natural, without the boy racer style panel shaking.

Re: ICE upgrade

there's a huge range of options out there, and depends mostly on your budget, and also how much space/weight you're willing to sacrifice for the subbox.

*cheap entry: pioneer TS-W307C, JBL GTO12
*good entry level: alpine type-S, JL audio W1v2, digital designs DD500 series, hertz energy series
*midspec: alpine type-R, JL audio W3v2, digital designs DD1500/2000/2500 series, image dynamics ID/IDQ series, boston acoustics G1/2 series, treo, soundstream, rockford fosgate P2/3
*highend: alpine type-X, JL audio W6v2, digital designs DD3500/9000 series, image dynamics IDMAX, boston acoustics G5, RF T1/2 series

i've not heard of that amp. in all honesty, it doesn't look anything special. the specs seem very overhyped to me. an amp capable of producing 3000WRMS would draw HUGE current, which is well in excess of what your car electrics could supply without MAJOR upgrades (bigger alternator, upgrade all underbonnet powerwiring, dual battery, etc). plus the sizes of the internal power supply cores are SMALL for what it claims and if that's all the stiffening capacitors it has, then that too is low. whilst i obviously haven't used or seen the amp, it seems to be more show than go. i wouldn't bother myself, and would choose a quality namebrand model that produces power you will actually need and use, that is lighter and fits into the car!

GT . 3.2L V6 . Q2 . Kyalami Black - Red . Eibach . KONI . ATP 19" . TOYO Proxes4 . Mille Miglia exhaust
155 . 2.0L 8V TS . Grigio Grey - Grey . Eibach . Bilstein . Enkei 17" . Bridgestone RE001 . REMUS

Re: ICE upgrade

i dont know if its of any help, or possibly breaching any rules either, and if it is, i sincerly apologise.

i have a pair of rochford power H2 subs (12") and a pbx 3kw amp (rms...) in the loft. i bought them with the intention of fitting them in my bravo initially, and then secondly into the 155, but havent got around to it, and dont know if i will atm. you will need to make a custom enclosure for the subs, but they were pushing 146 db in their only db run in a .75 cbft box by my friend, who i bought them off.

if your interested drop me a pm, they arent cheap, i paid £400 for the subs and £500 for the amp, but will let them go cheaper than that
