156 exhaust replaced!

finally got it done..new cybox decat with silencer, new standard intermediate pipe, and csc backbox.

took 3 hours to get the old one off, due to rust, and poor access to parts i needed to cut.

new one went on in 15 mins in total, caked all 3 joins in exhaust sealer too, but its still blowing a bit...

csc pipe sticks out a wee bit further than i thought it would, but nevermind.

might dechrome that if i go that way with everything else.

Why would you want to do that? the chrome looks nice

for the heck of it, same as i would with the doorhandles.

ooh. I quite like the chrome. each to their own though. Are you going for the matt black on the handles?

yeah, hopefully. need to get the old lock barrels out first.

grr...just took it for a run, lovely blow coming from the decat, and the rearmost part of the heatshield has dropped onto the backbox. fook. another hour or so underneath tomorrow, then.

grr...again....have now used a whole tub of exhaust sealant putty stuff, and its still blowing from the front of the decat....its all very well using more sealant, but changing the bugger come MOT time will be fun.

It shouldn't be blowing? Can you show some pictures of the joins??

will be difficult, its dark now. im going under it again in a few minutes, armed with another tub, and a wrench.
