Yes, the 16v diesel is brilliant with a decent remap, mine revs more like a petrol and the extra power is awesome! Plus I'm getting another 3mpg on the daily commute.

That'll fly if you do get it up to 210bhp!!

Pud - if you're down South Wales way and want to take mine out for a spin to compare the engines, give me a shout.

Apparantly this is easily acheiveable! Just a question of upgrading a few other bits n pieces.

Pud,

My father has the 159 2.4JTDm 200bhp....the engine is very good but you know the car is heavy and the turbo lag is noticeable at low rpms. The car has to do another few miles before the first oil change and then CelticTuning will do its magic on it.

Just about the engine, well I was first planing to fit the 2.4 20V unit into my 147 JTD 8v but I decided that the nose will become too heavy with the 2.4 and I will loose some of the drive ability of the car. Otherwise you can take that to 240-260bhp.

So I am going now for the 1.9JTDm 16v 150bhp and then with the help of my FMIC,sport exhaust system, BMC-CDA and celtic to do the remap for it, I am going for 210-220bhp. Will see what will happen in the next 6 months.

Re: Remap noise

Angel do a mobile service and can come to your door - home or work, might be worth checking out Red Dot too as they're close to you. Both have got good reviews from people who had their Alfas remapped.

Use Google to find them and give them a bell. Tell them what you're looking for from a remap whether it's ultimate power, driveability, economy and see what they can do.
