Dpat --- you are looking at £249 less 10%.
Great stuff OA, thank you for that, if (and when ) I decide to get it done I'll give you a mention

Here is an opportunity for someone. He is willing to take a look at one and test some maps. Is anyone interested.

I'd be game for it but my Bella has done less than 4000 miles. Having said that, I am driving to Scotland and back at the end of the month, so myabe next month she'll be settled down...

I'd wait til you get to that 5000K mark. As it would be the first one they have worked on, it would possibly (and I say possibly) be free of charge.

Augusto knows all about the fact that they suck a bit at traffic jam/slow moving driveability. The power curves are like rollercoasters

But hey, you are intitled to an opinion which is not valid as you have not experienced our re-map.

Even if other companies eventually manage to re-map the 2.2 engine I doubt they will cure the problems we have.

We are dedicated to Alfa's only and test these cars on a daily basis, we dont just have a few sessions on the rollers and hey presto.

No hard feeling guys, but we have spent a year on this project and to hear people just make comments without valid knowledge or experience, I have to defend my ground.

Jano is on here so rarely you may be waiting some time. Maybe you should give AD a call? OA.

Re: 2.2JTS Remap

Yes, in Zurich - just had mine done to give about 18 bhp more but it varies with each engine he said. Beinf Switzerland it is expensive, too, around CHF700 if I rmember right. But I had Eichbach springs fitted to take out the bodyroll on corners and it's now a great car to drive as well as to admire.

Re: 2.2JTS Remap

That's all great news... err some of it anyway... so Jano, is there anyone in Melbourne, Australia that can do a re-map of the 2.2 here? I suppose I could always drive up to Sydney and get it done. Also for everyone else, does anyone know where I can get a decent exhaust system fitted on my 159 2.2 in melb? Cheers!

Re: 2.2JTS Remap

In Switzerland. Just had my 2.2JTS remapped by digitaltuning. No more jerk when starting from a standstill (it's smooth all the way through) and the car feels much lighter when accelerating. Paid 350 pounds.

Well, they may be good at tuning but they sure don't know how to manage a web site, just try any link!

Re: 2.2JTS Remap

Popped into AD this morning and Jano
kindly put an AutoDelta map back onto
the Brera after my nice dealer wiped it.

Newer version map. Not really run it much as
it was tipping it down along the M4.
But it's just a great relief to have a smooth running
Brera back. An unmapped 2.2JTS Brera is so
annoying after you've lived with an AD map!

Also Jano gave me a quick spin the
the supercharged 2.2 159, all I can say is:

WOW!

What a cracking performance out of
essential a stock 159. If it weren't
for all the French red tape about mod'ing
cars I would be tempted by this puppy.

(Thank Jano!)

Yeah, but if i was in the market for
a V6 i would consider the AD SC'd
2.2 over it: lighter and not so much
of a price differential.

Spoke with a few frenchies about
modded cars: "Not worth the beaucratic
hassle."

What is the bureaucratic hassle when you mod the car?

You have to take the car to "Les Mines" at the local
prefecture and basically get the car (re) type approved.

Even then, it's not 100% sure any insurance
company will even quote for it.

Re: 2.2JTS Remap

Sounds like a nightmare.

What if the car is registered in a country that allows modifications (say the UK), and you want to drive through France? Could I drive through France in my V6, for example?

I think if you're all insured and legal
it's fine. But if you kept it here as
a resident legally you'd have to do
the hoop jumping. Or leave it as a UK
reg which is shady, but not unkown.

Back to the NA 2.2:

Driving the car around town today
there is definitely a greater smoothness
to the map that Jano loaded on Friday.

You can now drive the car perfectly
on just the throttle in 1st and 2nd
at low revs. No clutch dipping/slipping
or throttle blipping required in traffic.

Loving it.
