Re: Fiat into Alfa

I think the 2.4 JTD is the same block as the Fiat 20VT so it is possible.
I don't know how good it would be on a heavier car off boost.

Re: Fiat into Alfa

Why not just buy a Fiat Coupe 20VT instead? It's lighter, so would be faster...

Re: Fiat into Alfa

It'd fit, of that I have no doubt.. But would it actually be worth the hassle?

Still, a very interesting and worthwhile project

Re: Fiat into Alfa

But what would be the point, and how would it be worthwhile?

Not to rain on any parades, but why stick a powerful engine into an even BIGGER car, the other way around makes sense, but not what you have in mind.

Re: Fiat into Alfa

Are you really going for the engine swap?
Will you have any spares from the Coupe? Is it a 20 VT?

Re: Fiat into Alfa

Yes I`m stupid enough to try it!!
The coop lot is hanging in by 3 bolts, gonna drop it out this eve.
The car is a 20vt and whatever i dont use will be for sale.
If it all works I`ll have a 10k 2.0ts eng with box for sale.
The aim is to end up with 250 - 300bhp 156 which will owe me total 2 grand (inc car!)
Still a silly idea?

Re: Fiat into Alfa

Has it got leather?
Would you be interested in swapping a standard dump valve for a Forge one if it still has a standard one?
Good luck with the project.

Re: Fiat into Alfa

if your going to this much hassle already, then why not put the 2.4 bottom end on the 20V T engine? what sort of ECU wiring loom setup will you be using?

The idea is not to spend a fortune untill the engine is in and working properly, then maybe tune it further. At the mo using the Fiat ECU and loom.
