that"s excellent for that engine!!!
p.s. my mechanic says that on market exist few different series of 2.0 engine, and some of them take a lot of oil like my ex 147, - but from the other side, some of them don"t take anything... strange...

Re: Oil Consumption
My 1.8 Twinny doesn't use any oil! I just give her a change every 8,000 miles! Still check it every other week though!

Re: Oil Consumption
I'm with you Opalfa, 156 2.0 TS no oil use to mention since new, also the GT needs no topping up for the 2.0 JTS. Not high mileage but certainly no slouch in driving.

Re: Oil Consumption
I used Castrol TWS 10W-60 for a long time and I topped up about 1,5 litres in 10000km.
Now I switched to Motul 300V Chrono 10W-40. The consumption seems to go up to about 1 litre every 4000 km.

Re: Oil Consumption
In My Fiat I have Gulf Formula G fully synthetic 5w-40, as I can get it for £17.99 for 4 litres.
I have used this in My Alfa's as well, with no problems. I will also occasionally use Shell helix Ultra 5w-40 or Motul 8100 5w-40 if I can get a good deal on it.
I have never had a problem with any of my cars burning excess oil.

Strange, because the Motul 300V is an extremely good oil.
I changed from Castrol RS 10W60 to Redline 10W40 and oil consumption reduced.

What is interesting Motul claims:
"Can be mixed with another viscosity of same series to achieve most suitable viscosity for the engine."
MOTUL
I am considering mixing 50:50 300V 10W-40 with 15W-50 or 20W-60. I dont do any short journeys and minimum of city driving so my oil gets very few cold starts and only long trips. I think it can take 10W-20W. I found 10W-60 not necessary as my oil spends most of the time in the 100 - 120 degrees C range and I wanted to try thinner oil to make the engine even more free revving.
