Are you sure you currently have 205/45R17?

Usually they are 215/45R17 or even 225/45R17

Re: 1.9 16v JTDm - What Wheels ? You?

Have you actually looked for any 225/40R17?
A quick search hasn't found any at all.

So apart from being the wrong size, isn't available anyway!

Stick to 215/45R17 (in a 91W or higher)

If you want wider for some reason, go for 225/45R17, which was the GTA size.

Yes
Higher rolling resistance, plus more aero drag too.

Maybe more grip.
But do you really need more?
It may be better to just get a better 215/45R17 tyre.
