Chilling Wobbely Bolts ????

Hi All,

I am waiting on delivery of a set of 18" rims which I am putting on my 156 ( currently sits on the standard 16" telephone dial rims ). However , the garage have informed me that because of the Alfa's unique fitment I will have to get WOBBELY BOLTS in order for these to fit the car. Has anyone heard of these types of bolts and are they safe to use ? Will I require any special socket to remove them if I get a puncture or am I being overly cautious about this ? Has anyone fitted these to a 156 and had any problems with them ?

Personally I hate "wobbly bolts", but some people have used them without any problems.

I don't know if you can get locking wobbly bolts though.

I have wobbly bolts on my OZ superleggera 8*18" 5*100 rims, and I have had zero problems with them during the one season+ I have had them.

Re: Wobbely Bolts ????

On my 4x98PCD hubs I have 4x100PCD OZ wheels, I can use 3 wobble bolts and the normal Alfa locker - theres just enough space

Re: Wobbely Bolts ????

Jack, your std locking bolt will not be fitting right. It will be twisting at an angle.

You may be right actually - the people I bought the wheels from said it was ok to run with 3 wobbles and a non wobble locker - im yet to see any wobble lockers for sale, maybe I should look harder!

as long as the car has less than 16 valves the variator bolts never need replacing.

Ehhh - what about the fifth one!

I suppose you would need to put the locker in first, hand tight, then use the wobblers then tighten the locker, but I dont fancy it to be honest.
