Re: 159 3.2 Tuning

gass stopp in germany, dirty car, and a bad mob pic, but you can see how it looks.
1600km in that car was no porblem, and a joy to drive at high speed, after about 1600km, I had an avarage of 138km/h, and the consumption was about 1,6... so she does drink a lot when pushed to it....

Re: 159 3.2 Tuning

How was the "drone" ? The pipes look really good and I see you got the oval tips(128X80),they fill up the gaps nicely. What part of Europe does 1600km North put you?

Re: 159 3.2 Tuning

The "drone" is at its peak around 90 - 125 km/h, and is worst in the high gears, 5th and 6th. but it did no bother me that much. I had a top speed of 240, and there was a little more to go one, maybe 250, but on winter tires, dark, and - 2-3 it was better not to push it to fare.

Re: 159 3.2 Tuning

I still remember the Autobahns from 1984 in my Lancia HPE doing 180kmh with Porches and Mercs flying past me or pushing me out of the way,I would have loved to have had the 159 then.240 is fast in those cold conditions with winter tyres on.Have a great Xmas and drive safely, and I think you will notice more performance when you install the center section next year.

Re: 159 3.2 Tuning

Does anyone know if Angel Tuning have sorted how to do the 3.2JTS Brera/159's yet? Back in the summer they were having difficulty with the particular ECU and it seemed that AutoDelta were the only option. Is this still true?

Re: 159 3.2 Tuning

alfarmus,do the Autodelta remap, they have all the experience in tuning Alfas. My recommendation though, is to get rid of the original cats and get some free flowing sport cats ,the difference is amazing, instant throttle response, power increase by 18hp and it simply transforms the car.

Best bet would be to ring Angel and find out, I'm sure they will have attempted it by now at least, even if they haven't got a final product yet.

Sure am. The throttle was a bit on and off when it it was fitted but when I went back to Jano for the 1,000 mile check up he reporgrammed the ECU so the power came in a bit more linearly.

The engine seems to have loosened up a bit now (it's only doen 8,500 miles) and feels a little friskier.

The only problem now is that I'm used to it I want more My 'happy' figure would be 400hp.

I read somewhere that Autodelta reckon the next stage for my engine is up to 380 bhp (presently 348bhp). I guess this involves the exhaust system and probably another reprogramming fo the ECu but I don't have any details yet.

You could probably get more just by changing the supercharger pulley size but it could knacker your engine/gearbox etc so I will wait until Autodelta have tested the next hike in power and weigh up the benefits/cost.

Cheers

Banny

Good that your happy, I think 350hk sound very good.
When i first got the 3.2, I thought the 260hk ( I guess it is more like 240....) was a lot, and the car felt quick, at least compared with my old 1.9 diesel. But you get used to everything, so I also want some more power, but putting on a supercharger will most probably not happen, a ecu remap and a new chip is first on the plan. To get more than 300hk I guess I just need wait for the 159 GTA to arrive, if it will be made.

Re: 159 3.2 Tuning

jonnyboy, the Catco twin hi flow cats are what you need,I can assure you that you would be amazed at the difference. If you google Mille miglia in Australia and ask them to send you a photo of them,I am sure they could arrange to send a set to Switzerland for you. With the Supersprint center section my car now has 286HP and I am sure torque has increased by at least 15%.

Re: 159 3.2 Tuning

Hi Kanga,
yes this is the way to go for me also, and with a ecu remap i guess you can get very close to 300hk, or?
As I understand you have supersprint end pipes, the supersprint Y conection and millie miglia twin hi flow cats?

Re: 159 3.2 Tuning

Kanga, that is the plan, but I will do it step by step.
Found this company up here, they claim they can give another 18hp and 48nm exstra, sounds a lot.

Re: 159 3.2 Tuning

Kanga, sent you an PM,
but below is what I got from Digitaltuning, if you would like to have the data sheet, just PM me you email and I will send it over.

Q

We thank you for your e-mail and we refer to our this afternoon's phone conversation.

We can optimize your car. Pratically what we do is to reprogramm the original ECU. It's pratically an electronic job.

Here eclosed you find the approximate technical sheet of your car.
There are two possibilites:
A) to come with the car to our main office in Biasca. In this case the price is CHF 910.-- + CHF 100.-- for the installation (the work of our technicians).

B) to send the ECU to our main office in Biasca. In this case the price is CHF 910.-- + shipping costs.

We give a guarantee of 5 years. In case of a refresh of the ECU (for example in the Alfa Romeo garage) we can tune the car again free of charge. If, after for example 2 or 3 years, you would like to sell the car with the original ECU, we can put the original file always free of charge.

UQ

They said this reprogram will give around 15-18hp, and 50nm extra, and decrease the fuel consumption with about 5%
