Alfa GT 1.9 JTDm

Anyone fitted an updated exhaust on a jtd?

If you have fitted an updated exhaust to your jtd, would love it if you could tell if it made a difference to performance at all (or is it just for the looks?) and did it improve the sound? (audio file would be fab). Which one did you go for?
I am contemplating mods and the main thing I don't like of the jtd is the sound, I love everything else.
thanks.

I have heard good things about the Supersprint and am thinking about that one for my JTD. I am wanting to start modding as well and have started a thread about it here

Re: Anyone fitted an updated exhaust on a jtd?

just changing the back box, won't do much to performance.

If you do remove the pre-cat and main-cat together with a free-flow back box, then you will notice some performance increases especially if the car was remapped. All of them together you might be looking at 10bhp...depending on the ECU map.

I might try looking for my exhaust sound before the BMC-CDA....and post it here, so you can hear it. I really like the sound of my car...it might scare some people as it sounds like you have a blow-off valve.

The best thing about it, is that you can make sounds and be loud, but when you fell lazy or tired and drive slowly, you won't hear anything.

Here is a small sound file....BUT it was recored with a mobile phone...so it is kind of hard to "get the picture"

I will look for a better one.

I will change the back box next week I think - I hate that box! , it's so ugly!
The future "back box exhaust" will be: a straight pipe with a tips at the end of it - easy money and simple
