Remapped

My car pulls much better even on inclined roads. Its WORTH it guys. Thanks for the advice.I am still testing a few things like fuel consumption. It seems much better but i need figures to be sure.

Next is suspension upgrade.RHB or Koni FSD will let you know by end of April. I also fitted new brake discs and pads front and rear.

Re: Remapped

Noticed a big difference when Angel did my 156. My mpg improved a little too, maybe 2 to 3mpg. I put that down to not having to change down so often when pulling away from lower revs.

Re: Remapped

I considered having my 156 remapped but my mechanic said he had only ever had two alfas come in his garage with blown engines and both were remapped, don't know if it had anything to do with it but decided against it in the end

Something else would've caused the blow-ups. A good company like Angel won't map the engine in such a way that it'll explode if you hit the redline too often. I suspect poor maintenance (ie checking the oil) and continually blatting to 7400rpm with no oil caused the engines to go...but that's my opinion of course

We buy in lots of Alfa's with knackered T-Spark engines... none of which are remapped ... they almost always have failed in the the usual one of two ways, nothing to do with remapping them.

Re: Remapped

Thats good, might be back on then! He was the only person i'd talked to about it. I was considering the gta intake, would it be better to get it on before a remap?

Re: Remapped

Hey guys,
I was thinking of going either Bilstein or Koni shockers to replace the shot originals at the front. What do you think?

Re: Remapped

Bilstein are, as I've read the best and the smoothest. Koni are cheaper, and Sachs are the cheapest (good ones). I prefer my Sachs to Koni. I think Koni's are a bit harsh for my taste.

Re: Remapped

Hi Guys, I would like to go for more comfortable ride in 147 on 17" rims. I have been recommended Koni FSD's but now you have said Bilstein's are the go. Can you let me know what ones (code etc) would be best. Thank you
