Re: 156 GTA Tuning

Yes you might think that the 23% VRT import tax is applied to the price you paid, but oh no..
..its applied to the brand new Irish List price

So 30K Stg for the Car = 45K Euro
Add 30K Euro for the VRT (i.e. 23% of 127k)

comes to 85K Euro.

Still Stg 30K in the UK is lower than I was expecting.
When the EU hopefully finally forces Ireland to drop the VRT tax at some point, I could think of worse ways to spend my money.

Re: 156 GTA Tuning

This disucssion is not going anywhere, why compare the M3 CSL with the GTA ? They are not in the same class even.
I personally preffer the GTA, obviously, I can afford an M3 but I really don't like it as much as I like the GTA.
As for the CSL, OK, maybe an M3 with a bit more power, less stuff and some carbon panels, but nothing major changed. It's a race car in my opinion, not a street car.

Re: 156 GTA Tuning

The CDA is fairly expensive, check out the carbon airbox I linked to in this topic, it's quite cheap and looks a lot better built and designed than the CDA. Maybe a fellow forum member from Japan might help with the payment and shipping since most of those sites are Japan only.

£150 for an airfilter is quite a lot.

Re: 156 GTA Tuning

read the whole thread - its a bargain compared to some of the kits!

personally I couldnt spend more than £200 on an ind kit no matter how good it was.

Re: 156 GTA Tuning

I have read the whole thread.
Just because you can get ridiculously expensive carbon jobs from Japan it doesn't make £150 a bargain, it is still a lot for a filter.

Re: 156 GTA Tuning

aye well Id agree there (wasnt being cheeky btw). 150-200 seems to be about the going rate for anything more complicated than a bolt on cone

Re: 156 GTA Tuning

Ok im not sure how old this thread is but since im going to tune my 156 gta il just continue here...

So my setup right now is besides from the great standard GTA,
Novitec coilovers adj in height and pressure
BBS ch 18" rims
Tarox discs and pads
Supersprint centre and outlet (box)
BMC CDA

im probobly missing something but then again my questions is about the new items im going for

LSD from autodelta
Chamshafts from CB Performance
Supersprint manifold
Supersprint Cat.

so my first questions is, am i insane? well actually im not..
im willing to spend around £5000 on the car and since sweden dont allow Tüv clearance only i have to stick to items that wont turn me down on my yearly checkup..

So, what im wondering is first of all the LSD how big is the work to get that on? i wont be doing it my self but i would like to know some before i order the items...

since my car needs a set of new timingbelts im going to do the chamshaft change also but there are 4different ones and im not sure which one is more friendly when it comes in term of tüv approval, i dont want to have to remove them 1 time per year, want them on for "ever"

any thoughts?

i was thinking of a compressor kit / turbo but that will just lead me in to having to remove it all the time and also there arent that many companies in sweden that can and also sell a kit for a AR 156 GTA...

Re: 156 GTA Tuning

oh, sorry BigFoot:/

So i have noticed there a few different diffs,
Q2 is alfas own diff i guess, can someone explain to me why i should pay £1,169.13 (inc VAT) for a LSD from autodelta when i can get a Q2 for a much better price..
anyone able to help me out here?

i need to know where to start,
Im going for a timingbelt change and well thats basicly where i start, i want to get some tuning done while they are fitting it.
im going crazy now that ive got £5500 to spend on the car

let me point out what ive been looking on
Supersprint manifold & kat
CB Performance Camshaft
LSD/Q2 etc

ive mailed autodelta to see what they have to offer thats if i drive all the way to england:S
today i got also a url to alfastumper.dk from Gustav_H, thanks bro
in there ive found a few upgrades that remind me of autodeltas own solutions, conv. to 3.3/3.5 and 3.8l

have in mind that i will at the end of day go all the way for a conversion of the engine to a higher vol.
so please help me spend my money right.. so that i wont start from the wrong way and then pay extra in labor for something i could have gotten done the first time.
