Where are you from? Only chips that seem to have merit is the squadra tuning chips otherwise best option is remap with egr reverse and dpf delete if I have used the right terminology lol. I haven't turned to the dark side yet.

Don't use a chip get a custom remapp.get Fred to mapp it for you at www.proalfla.com he is a top mapper and reasonable price has well.. A chip can cause a lot of issues with the engine...

You basically re- right the ecu which is performed whilst the car is on a rolling road price can be £350 plus well worth it. Do you ever come to uk?

While I endorse a custom remap for various reasons, it would seem that piggy backs or tuning boxes are becoming wildly popular for 1 extra reason...they can now be tuned themselves!!! It has settings from mild to agressive so that's a nice option.

Giulietta JTDm TCT

I've used a TDC-Technologies CR-Plus unit ( TDC PowerBoxes ) on two 147's and my current Giulietta JTDm. It is adjustable from '0' (does nothing) to '15' (rabid bull with Wasabi up it's backside). It's been excellent, but I've been intrigued by the reviews of the Spider kit ( Alfa Romeo ) which learns from the engine and adapts to the driver's driving style.
The big differences between plug-in boxes and ECU remapping are that a good ECU remap can be tailored to meet the specific requirements of the owner, but on the other hand a plug-in box can be removed without trace when your car goes in for service and potentially transferred to your next car when you trade up.

Alfetta GTV6/Spider 2.4

I'd be interested in knowing how the RaceChip 2 went on the 159? I have the same device on the same engine in a Spider and have set it on D1 with very impressive results. I wanted (i) smoother power delivery with less hastle and without boy racer characteristics (I have another car for that stuff) and, on the Spider, I did not want to remove all the DPF kit. The other thing I was after was (ii) a quicker response in certain traffic situations (roundabouts for example where this particular engine can sometimes get bogged down) I have achieved the result for (i) and am still appraising (ii) but so far its promising.

alfa gt jtdm

Be warned if it does raise your torque up to 458nm which seems to be a lot it will eat your clutch in a heart beat. My Gt has been remapped and it puts out 315nm .The standard clutch is only good to 360nm

2.4 is a bit different story. Especially 159 with GM drivetrain

Could you tell us your impressions once you get it and try it out? Im really intrested in buying one for a giulietta but I cant believe that they give out such a huge performance gain (+70bhp is advertised for the qv which to me is insane).

On my Spider 2.4 jtdm 200 I reckon its up to 215 to 220 or so without getting too silly. However it is very smooth and pulls better. The thing about 2.4 jtdm's is that what you are looking for is smooth pulling power and cruising with plenty in reserve. Do not buy a racechip if you want to leave rubber on the road - you'll probably break the car - i did that once with a supercharger! However if you like the prospect of getting your squeezel to lift its kilt in 6th and get quickly from 70 to 100 and beyond in reasonably short order then it is a reasonably cheap way of doing it! ... And you can cruise at 60 or 70 barely caressing the right pedal!

Im running a spider tuning box. You ca change the boost which is good. Compared to a custom remap its as good.

Remember to hide the box well when you install it, it's not legal to use on public road in Denmark.
