GQV FR&R Tuned 272BHP

Guili's GQV tuned (previously New Beginings...QV inside!)

Planned mods:

19"wheels
H&R 45mm springs and Koni adjustable shocks(or dampers as the nice ones say) coming in the next month or two.
Slashed gloss black tailpipes.
STO/CPi or FR&R software but only once car's odo reads over 1000km.
DP...don't know where, but I have a couple of VAG people I know that can build DP's, also guys who built DP's for OPC's...
ITG Maxogen 100mm custom intake
Interior - I have my guy who'll do the suade/alcantara inserts.
Original Carbon dash trim and gearknob and handbrake lever
HID kit for headlights...definately very soon!
LED lights inside and numberplate.

Somewhere in September i'd like to buy the supposed GTA kit...
I'm planning on keeping the car for 2-3 years...

But let's see where in that list of mods we can start...oh yeah! AlfaNess is back, I can feel it in my bones!!!

Oh, I collect tomorrow...I hope everything goes off very well, I think I'll head straight to KAR for a dyno run, maybe my car does 200kw standard!

2012 Giulietta QV Ghiacco White/carbon roof/Diamond Cut 18" Teledials/H&R sport springs/Supersprint turboback exhaust/BMC 76mm intake/FR&R software/272BHP-430Nm more development to follow!

and no leather...f!#$

Well the purchase was 90% motivated by the car allowance and the friggin taxman, 5% by the fact that the GTi is getting old and out of MP, and 5% by my unrelenting search for an Alfa.

Congratulations! Finally back in the correct stable. I'm really excited to see how the car turns out. I've been waiting for someone to really take the GQV to the next level I will definitely be following all threads about this car intensely.

Congratulations Lance, she looks good. I hope you will have a lot of fun with her.

Have you found out how to switch the traction control off? Run it in before you take it to a dino. I probably is governed up to a certain kmreading on the odo and it is not good for the engine at this stage.

Before I get in trouble for making a statement again - let me say what follows is just MY opinion:

Why not drive the car for say 5000km before making expensive changes like suspension and the like? Then when you get tired of it you have something to look forward too.

I found that doing that keeps me interested for longer

Corrie unfortunately you cant turn it off.. Well at least not without removing a fuse or two which causes the car to go out of Dynamic.

An official response from FIAT Spa (not FIAT SA) on the DNA system, when I asked them if for the 4C the DNA can be disabled..

"As for the DNA system, its operation logic was designed to provide maximum performance, safety and driving pleasure in all road conditions and, therefore, we made a clear choice on it, not to let it [be] turned off. For Sporty versions and models (such as the 4C) we are thinking to give the possibility to de-activate the DNA but no decision has been taken yet"

Lance what time you picking up the car?

Congrats Lance...... I agree with Jaco, before making any modes, just drive it for a month or so, and make sure no changes you do voide the warranty.

Happy Alfaness for you though. Glad you are back !

I'm confused?? There is no tax benefit for buying a car??

Anyways...great choice! Love it in white - you aren't worried about the mods voiding the warranty? I've already had a few small things replaced under warranty, and they weren't cheap!!

Nice car Lance a new car is always special, in all the cars that I have owned I only drove 2 out of the showroom, I am just too tight with my money.
I am not sure how the new laws apply to car allowance but its virtualy not much now so if you get a car allowance you do not have to use all of it as it does not affect the tax that much.
I think the tax credit for travell will eventualy fall away in the near future, perhaps someone can comment with better info on this.

Congrats Guili.

I'm taken by your wheels, they look great.
The carbon roof breaks up the white nicely. I believe mine was the first one on the road in the UK with a carbon roof (2nd done for my dealer but the other one was still in the show room)
Its 1 year old today and the roof still looks great

I know you will love yours and i will keep an eye on your mods.

Enjoy
