Well Happy 3.2 V6 Quaife v diff observations

We've had the Quaife diff fitted since the Autolusso engine rebuild on our GT so now that the engine is run in, we've been able to give it some beans

Compared to the Q2 we had fitted for over 60k, it's quieter, especially on lock & there's hardly any torque steer, that is, it's less of a wild ride.

Grip & performance on the twisty roads or around roundabouts is just as good as the Q2 and it isn't at all aggressive like I thought it might be

Early days so far, so good, very impressive

Getting braver with this now

You can be super aggressive exiting a corner or going round a roundabout (without ASR) and understeer is cancelled out

The sudden pull to the apex side I got when the Q2 did its stuff is less with this diff too

Not tried it in the wet yet so will report back soon.

PS. Just don't lift off mid corner

And that is the secret of the Quaife... If you do. It will eat you alive. Keep your foot planted and all will be well, but it is a little unnerving!

At least with a 147 or GT the VDC stays active, even if you tun off the ASR.

So stick a Quaife on and your car will behave like a 205 gti 1.9

Had a go in Scotts 147GTA again today, I couldn't get a good test as his tyres are crap but over the last drive it did certainly feel like it had a bit more bite mid corner, still it understeered like a b***h and still wheel spun like mad.

Get those PS3's on now Scott
