GT 1.9 JTDm Remap - is it worth doing?

Hi all,

I Have a 2006 GT 1.9 JTDm with @64k on the clock. I'm reasonably happy with the performance, but a bit more 'ooomph' would not go amiss! Looking through the forums, it seems that loads of people have had their cars done, with varying levels of satisfaction, so i'm a little confused, as to whether or not to bother. Any help/advice appreciated, specifically on the following points:-
What is the max BHP to aim for, in the interests of maintaining a good reliability state?
Will fuel consumption suffer greatly?
I would be looking for improved acceleration, both from standstill and through the gears, over top speed.
Has anyone had issues with their insurers, after having their car remapped?
TDI tuning website looks very 'persuasive' - anybody have any experience with that company?
Cost seems to vary greatly, too, so an idea on that, would also be good.
I'm in West London, so recommendations of companies within a 50mile or so radius of Heathrow, would be appreciated.
